Motiv Raptor Attack
Description: The new pearl RAPTOR ATTACK strikes with a vengeance. It is the first asymmetric pearl ball ever released by MOTIV . Utilizing Atomix SFP Reactive cover technology, the Raptor Attack is very long and clean down the lane with a quick response to friction on the backend. On sport shots, it dominates when heavy oil patterns break down and transition. On the THS, bowlers with moderate to high rev rates will be able to swing the ball with confidence, seeing an impressive backend move as the Raptor Attack sinks its talons into the lane.

The all new Raptor Attack by Motiv Bowling is exactly what the line was missing. When My Raptor P7 is too early and the Sigma doesn't want to climb the hill this ball is PERFECT!! I did a simple pin up no hole and this ball is clean through the fronts but still reads the midlane and doesn't go through the spot. For league bowlers this is the exact shape you want to see. As for more competetive bowlers this ball is great when you can open up your angles and other products are fighting themselves to make the corner this ball is PEELING! I am more than in love with this ball,it is exactly what we needed and I recommend this ball to everyone.

The Raptor Attack will soar into your local pro shops with some bad intentions! The Raptor Attack features the proven Predator inner core wrapped around the Atomix SFP (skid flip pearl) coverstock. This core features a 2.46 RG, a .060 differential, and a perfectly balanced .015 intermediate differential. As MOTIV’s first pearlized asymmetrical release, this ball will strike with a vengeance!
I have drilled two Raptor Attacks to date. The first Raptor Attack I drilled 60 x 4.5 x 55 (pin drilled out, ring) and the second 55 x 5 x 40 (hole at P1.5, pin above the bridge) respectively. My pin drilled out Raptor Attack is great when the lanes are tough, and I need to tighten up my angles, and my pin up Raptor Attack allows me to get in and strike for days.
In comparison to other balls in the line. It is longer, with a greater response to friction than the Sigma Tour, and more mid lane and angle than a Primal Impulse. Coming out of the box at 2000 and Power Gel Polish, the ball rolls great without polish as well! Bowlers who are struggling when the front part of the lane begins to go, transition, or looking for a ball stronger off the spot during league, the Raptor Attack is your ball!
As an update to my review here.. I have shot my first two honor scores with MOTIV (832 and a 300 game) and won a tournament with the Raptor Attack (55 x 5 x 40) within 10 days. This ball strikes a ton, a definite return on investment!

Lane Condition:
40ft THS on AMF HPL
Medium-Heavy Volume
Layout:
5” x 5 3/8”
70 x5 x 40
While throwing the Raptor P7, with its Predator asymmetric core, I have thought to myself ‘how can I extend this great ball motion into the later games of the day?’ Enter the Motiv Raptor Attack. By wrapping the Predator (2.46 RG, .060 Diff) in the Atomix SFP Pearl Reactive coverstock (finished to 2000 with polish) you will retain the great revving motion of the Raptor P7 while getting the ball to push further down the lane and creating a stronger backend reaction. I decided to lay this ball out relatively weak when compared to my P7 because I wanted the ball to definitively make it through the heads and save its energy for a strong and continuous finish, and that is what I obtained. Even though the mass bias is placed in a weak position for me, the Predator still creates 5”-6” of flare every time I release the ball. The ball roll created by that flare has given me a firm midlane revving reaction that helps it to push through any carry down and drive through the pins like a beast. I have found that this ball reaction is a great compliment to both the P7 and the Sigma Tour. When the lanes are a little too dry to throw the P7, but still too slick for the Sigma to read early enough, the Attack fills that role perfectly. If the pins are trying to hold you hostage, bring out the Motiv Raptor Attack and strike with a vengeance!

What a great combination, using the Predator core from the Raptor and the Atomix™ SFP Reactive cover technology of the Primal Impulse. I love the Primal Impulse, so this ball is even cleaner through the front part of the lane for me, even when they are fried. I had a great 1-2 punch in the men's city tournament last weekend using these 2 balls on the burn. When the Impulse would not allow me to get in as deep as I needed to, I was able to move in zones with the Raptor Attack and carry the corners. This ball performed well on the USBC National shot also. My ball speed is around 15 and a medium rev rate compared to others allowed me a better angle of attack. I drilled this ball 2X2 stacked no weight hole and this lay out smoothed the ball off the friction for me. Don't get me wrong, this ball is strong with GREAT down lane motion. This ball retains it's energy, pounds pins with really good carry, and very clean through the heads. Really a good addition to the Motiv line of balls. David

heres the easiest way to discribe this ball....the strength that you know and love from the raptor...add the cleanness through the fronts like the impulse.....BAM you got the raptor attack...Super clean through the fronts and strong on the back..This is a ball that you need in your bag...i have drilled 2 of these and the only other ball i have been using as of late is the thrash when the raptor attack is too much....this is a ball that you need to check out so go to www.youtube.com and check out some of the ball review videos along with mine( youtube name is twanked)...and be sure to check out www.motivbowling.com/ and sign up to the forums to get any help with drilling you need...Dustin Baker Motiv Regional staff member

The MOTIV Raptor Attack is a first for MOTIV.The RA
is the first asymmetrical pearl ball.
The Raptor Attack is much cleaner through the heads
than the Raptor. The Atomix SPF pearl cover helps create
a much cleaner look through the midlane.
The Raptor Attack is more angular than than Raptor and
responds to the friction at the backend quicker.
The low RG core helps keep the Raptor Attack from
going to long, but still retains the early revving motion
of the Raptor, but the Atomix SPF cover gets it through
the heads easier.
The ease through the heads helped store up energy for
the backend without giving up much traction in the
midlane.
The aggressive move at the breakpoint sets up nicely for the
tremendous down lane recovery.
The core and cover combo allows the Raptor Attack to
quickly respond to the friction, and keep going when
other balls would be quitting and have a tendency to
stand up.
Going around the pattern is made a whole lot easier when
you feel confident that the ball isn't going to roll-out.When
the ball does encounter friction it makes a a very impressive
continuous motion.
I feel that the Raptor Attack can be used as a heavy oil ball
for players with slower ball speed and a medium oil ball for
players with speed and higher revs.
In my opinion, the Raptor Attack is a very versatile ball.It
has the ability to handle shots pointed at the pocket from
five and out and from five arrow.
I have used the RA on a variety of conditions on the house
shot.From fresh oil,second shift,to second day leftovers.And
I can say without a doubt, that the Raptor Attack performs
above all my expectations.
One ball one drilling and it worked well on all those conditions.

The Motiv Raptor Attack is the first Pearl asymmetrical ball in the Motiv line and they did it right. We haven’t seen this kind of ball reaction since the TZ3, easy length with a strong asymmetric reaction. The predator core with the pearl purple and black looks great with the green and white logos. Atomix SFP cover gives me easy length with the Raptor break point. My Raptor Attacks give me about the same total hook as my Sigma Tours with similar layouts, but the Raptor Attacks give me more length with a sharper break point. The Raptor Attack seems to shine on medium to medium heavy oil when more angle is required. I’ve also found the Attack to be a wonderful house shot ball, and for longer sport patterns when the shot starts to breakdown. I was also able to use them on shorter sport shots with small release changes.
In short If you are looking for a Raptor hook shape on a lighter volume of oil without sacrificing hitting power the Raptor Attack is my choice.

Motiv Raptor Attack. Inner Core: Predator. Coverstock: Atomix SFP. Box Finish: 2000 grit with Power Gel Polish. Drill Pattern: 60 x 2.5 x 20 with no extra hole. Surface Prep: 500/2000 Abralon by hand. Bowler Specs: 400 RPM, 19 MPH, 10 degrees of axis tilt, PAP is 3 3/8 left, and 3/8 up. I drilled my Raptor Attack the same as my P7. The layouts feature a 3:1 ratio and a flare reducing pin position to control flare. I really like my Raptor Attack when the fronts start to go and the P7 begins to burn up. I can stay in the same zone, and simply "ball down." The Attack will also handle more overall volume than the Primal Impulse because of the strong Predator core. Granted the cover stock is the same on both balls (Atomix SFP), but the Impulse core will be longer and stronger. I use my Attack to keep my target in front of me. When I want to stand right and throw left, the Primal Impulse is right at home. A high rev rate bowler may actually prefer the Attack to an original Raptor as it is the same core, but a cleaner shell. The box finish was too weak for my liking. I took a 500 grit abralon pad to break the shell and brought it back up to 2000 grit. I found more usage out of the Attack after doing this coverstock preparation. I find that sometimes the Raptor Attack is too little/too much ball. I always seem to throw either a Raptor P7 (oil) or Primal Impulse/QZ2 Backdraft (medium, low volume, etc.) For me personally this piece is a niche reaction. It is not something I am going to need day in and day out, but is a good addition to the MOTIV line. -Darren Andretta/MOTIV Staff

This ball is an incredible compliment to the original RAPTOR. The pearlized shell gives me the added length I need when the lanes begin to transition but adds some additional angle allowing me more room right as the lanes break down. The biggest additon in my mind is the continuation provided through the pins helping take out those ever nasty corner pins. This ball fits well and will provided you another weapon on the typical house shot as well as other challenging lane conditions as it allow you the ability to play straight up the boards early and swing it as they transition with out sacarificing carry or dealing with an over/under reaction.
In my line up it fits as follows:
RAPTOR---HEAVY OIL
Raptor Attack
Sigma Tour
Thrash
Primal Impulse
Backdraft
QZ2 Black/Blue---LIGHT OIL
With an arsenal like that there is NOTHING you cant beat!!!! GET MOTIV-ATED TODAY! What are U waiting for?
The new pearl RAPTOR ATTACK strikes with a vengeance. It is the first asymmetric pearl ball ever released by MOTIV. Utilizing Atomix SFP Reactive cover technology, the Raptor Attack is very long and clean down the lane with a quick response to friction on the backend.
