Motiv Thrash Frenzy Bowling Ball

The Motiv Thrash Frenzy is an awesome ball to add to your arsenal. When the lanes start to break down this ball easily gets through the heads which is especially beneficial on wood lanes. The ball goes long with a great backend finish. This will give you an easy to read reaction and a higher percentage of strikes to continue bowling high scores throughout your games. The ball looks great also. My customer’s scores are also increasing with this ball as they are able to create area and carry more strikes. I have used this ball on a medium oil pattern at 41 feet on a wood surfaces. I am right handed and throw the ball at 17mph. I use the Motiv Power Gel Clean to keep the ball clean and ready to react at all times. Later revs and a better read of the late midlanes. The ball also has a much more skid flip than the Primal Scream .The Thrash Frenzy creates less overall hook throughout the lane than the The Primal Scream. The Thrash Frenzy compared to the Primal Scream The Primal Scream has more overall hook through the entire lane. The Trash Frenzy has more length and greater response to the friction. With more backend at the end of the pattern than the Primal Scream. On medium oily lanes 42’ house shot on 13 year old Anvilanes. The core and cover combo creates less hook throughout the entire lane.But has a quick response to friction when it encounters friction at the back end. The Thrash Frenzy clears the heads and midlane nicely, but has a lot of energy left to create a big move on the back end. When it hits the friction at the back end of the pattern, it turns and doesn't quit. When the lanes start to go through the transition stage The Thrash Frenzy really shows what it’s made of. The ease through the heads and midlane and the skid flip motion allows you to move deeper into the lane,and still get recovery.But getting the ball to the dry too quick on the medium oil house shot caused the ball to flip too hard,and run through the nose. As the shot transitioned during games 2-3,I could easily move deeper to created steeper angles. With the steeper angles during the transition the pin carry was increased. The miss area wasn't so critical .The ball now had extra area to come back without overreaction. Closing comments: The Quadfire Symmetric core helps supply length and decent revs, for medium/dry conditions.With 3" flare..The ball does what it is designed to do.It gave more length and a sharper move downlane.It got through the drying heads and light push, all the while maintaining a sharp angular turn at the breakpoint. The Thrash Frenzy was best on lighter oil to medium volumes. Medium oil volumes might require you to scuff it up some to improve traction in oil. Higher rev players may find they will get a great look with with more surface on fresh oil. The length the Frenzy gets through the heads easy,and still keeps its axis rotation which helps to conserve energy when coming in contact with the pocket. Overall a great ball for most styles.Just find a condition that is light to medium,and you will not be disappointed. The Thrash Frenzy is a great medium lane ball,best suited for drying house shots and medium sport shots.Too much ball for dry house shots and short oil sport shots.The Pearl Ascent fills that role. Motiv Thrash Frenzy Thrash the Competition! The Thrash Frenzy is smooth and violent all in one. This ball has length that is very natural and a violent backend reaction with great continuation all the way through the pins. This is the most angular ball that Motiv has ever released. This ball is spectacular when the oil pattern begins to break down, or when you are bowling on a medium to dryer oil pattern. The Whiplash pearl cover is a great compliment with the quadfire core, which has proven itself over and over again. I love having a cover/core combo that you can trust to get back from anywhere on the lane. Layouts I used were 80x5x50 with a P3 and 70x4.25x30. The first layout is a little early and makes a very big move at the breakpoint. The second layout is a little longer and a little more angular entry into the pocket. These two layouts fit together nicely and also fit in very well in the lineup of Motiv’s other equipment. THRASH FRENZY--- This ball by far is one of my favorites in the line. With the Primal Scream now becoming my Benchmark piece I was in need of something long and strong with that angular finish I so desired. This ball gave me that and so much more. My first experience with this ball was at the PBA winter swing where I had the opportunity to throw it on 4 quite different patterns. ( Salvino,Roth,Carter,Anthony) As expected this ball was quite a bit longer than my Primal Scream and just as angular as I had hoped it would be. Surprisingly though it still performed well on the longer patterns as it is just angular enough to get back to the hole at the back end of the oil. My second go around was on PBA cheetah and all I can say is WOW!!! Long, Strong and Angular are the only three words I could use. Such a great compliment to the Scream, Talon and everything else I own. Whether its House shots , PBA patterns and tournament oil patters or others this ball does have a place. Medium to heavy oil patterns fit best or THS. If you have a ball that reads well early or midlane and you are looking for that longer piece of the puzzle this is the ball for you! Strong off the back of the pattern but not crazy..controlled angle is probably the best way to explain it!!! Don’t shy away from this one I don’t think you will be disappointed! I am very impressed with how clean this pearlized version of Whiplash coverstock is although too much volume will force it back into the bag. The Thrash Frenzy has much less mid lane read than the 2Cruel and Primal Scream, but has a much quicker response to friction. This ball is best suited for bowlers competing in second shift leagues and tournament bowlers on the "BURN." It was a bit wet/dry for me out of the box so I scuffed it with a 4000 grit pad to break the shell and it seemed to do the trick for me. I have been waiting months for a ball that has moderate friction production and a fast response to friction as a step down from the Primal Scream. On the high friction synthetics and THS I see on Long Island the Frenzy does a great job of retaining energy and not forcing me to play extreme inside angles. In other words, I now have the ability to stay in roughly the same zone and ball down as the lanes go through transition.
