Great for medium to dry conditions

Posted by Jeffrey Poholsky on Feb 27th 2019

The Cutting Edge pearl is a great option for light to medium oil patterns, or on burn squads of tournaments when the fronts tend to transition. I would stay away from this ball on heavier patterns, or for me even cliffed house shots as a miss into the oil could cause a flat response at the pins.

But when this ball matches up, wow does it strike and hit hard. Mine is drilled pin over ring finger and I see easy glide to the breakpoint and then a snappy (but controllable) response to the friction.

If you prefer to keep your angles square then this is a must have. Or for high rev players there's no fear of early read with this ball. A great choice for the right situation.

The Cutting Edge Pearl is a great ball for medium to lighter oil conditions. I find this ball to be most useful once other balls like my fearless hook too early and I am looking to continue to open my angles. The Cutting Edge Pearl is weaker that the previous two Cutting Edge releases and fits just underneath the Solid in terms of hook. This is the most angular ball in the line and gives fantastic length. If you like the long and strong reaction and are looking for a step up from the Rhino series, check this one out.

    Cutting Edge Pearl

Symmetric with a snap, the Cutting Edge Pearl is skid flip beast at an affordable price tag. The Cutting Edge line has already proven to be highly versatile on medium conditions and with the addition of the Pearl you with have the perfect compliment to switch to when the lanes start to break down. This will be the best midprice ball you’ve ever thrown. I guarantee it.

    Great Value

The Cutting Edge Pearl is the newest from the Cutting Edge line. As with the other balls in the line, this ball is a great ball at the price point. Its great when the lanes begin breaking down and you need something to clean through the head with enough pop to make the turn down lane. You could make a lower cost 3 ball arsenal with the 3 Cutting Edge balls alone. Overall this is a great ball that's clean through the heads and a predictable yet angular reaction on the back.

Tons of performance for the lower price point!

    My Personal Reflection:
The cutting edge hybrid is by far the most versatile ball in this three ball line up! The hybrid will give you a smooth reaction that isn't extremely jumpy off the pattern allowing you to be able to get a good read of the lane. The hybrid can be a true benchmark ball for any Brunswick arsenal!

The cutting edge solid gives the bowler a little more down lane motion than the hybrid version. If the hybrid is becoming lazy off the pattern moving to the solid will give you that backend motion and entry angle that is required to kick the corners out.

The cutting edge pearl is much smoother compared to hybrid and solid balls in the fronts and mid lane. The pearl coverstock gives you an added juice factor off the pattern that many bowlers love! If you want a mid-priced ball that is angular, this ball is for you!!!
