Additional product information:

We brought back the Melee Jab a few seasons ago, and it was one of the best things we have done. The combination of the Melee core and the Savvy Hook cover system produced incredible results. We keep modifying the cover slightly to combat today's conditions while fine- tuning the finish to create the backend reaction you're looking for. The Melee Jab Midnight Blue is a ball that should be in any bowler's arsenal that's serious about throwing strikes.

    Midnight blue jab

This ball is great! Gets down lane and is sharp of the end of the pattern. With the pin at 12 o’clock, It really allows me to get further in than others when the lanes start to burn up. But still a great ball on the fresh. This ball is a little stronger on the backends than the red melee.

Melee Jab Midnight Blue is one ball that I overlooked and should've been in my bag sooner! With the Melee Jab SE being one of my favorites, the Midnight Blue is replacing it. Compared to my SE, the Midnight Blue reads a little bit earlier and not as sharp, when coming off the pattern. Same hitting power. Both balls have the same layout. Better late than never!

    The Jab with More Punch

BALL SPECS Ball Weight: 15 lbs DRILL PATTERN Ball: 65 x 5 x 35 X Hole (if there is one): none BOWLER STYLE Rev Rate: 375 rpms Ball Speed:17.5 mph off hand PAP/Track: 4 5/8 over 3/4 up SURFACE PREP Grit: 4000 Siaair BALL REACTION Length: Back End: Skid/Snap COMMENTS The Melee Jab Midnight Blue is an earlier reading version of previous Melee Jabs. This one features the same reliable Melee core with a stronger cover that picks up sooner in the middle of the lane. I found this one to be several feet sooner than my Melee Jab Blood Red with a slightly quicker response time. This will be my go to ball for opening the lanes or playing steeper angles when there is head oil present. This Melee Jab Midnight Blue is the strongest Jab of them all.

    Ball review

As we all know the melee line has been special. It’s hard to top the melee jab, and melee blood red but this one doesn’t disappoint. With my favorite pin up layout (70X4 1/4X30) i have the midnight about 3 more over all than my blood red and about 5 more than the jab SE. This ball is so versatile. I haven’t had trouble with it hooking too early but i did hit mine with a little surface to help control the back end motion a bit. This ball will definitely be in my league and tournament bag.

    Midnight Jab

The Midnight Jab is a great add to the Melee line. Tested on a THS. I have the midnight a bit cleaner with a sharper move at the breakpoint over the Blood Red. I’m seeing about 3-5 boards more overall than the Blood Red. The midnight does seem to read earlier in mids. Has a very quick and strong arch like motion. Not uncontrollable. Was able to keep it in front and throw it away with tons of hitting power. 2 Great Jabs are going to knockout the competition.

The jab is back and now offered in a midnight blue Savvy Hook 3.0 pearl cover. A great pearl symmetrical ball to have in anyone’s bag. Good length while still picking up the mid lane and great continuation through the pins. This ball will be a favorite on just about any house shot for all levels of bowlers

    The Always Impressive Melee Jab

    Posted by O D on Aug 26th 2021

4 releases of the Melee Jab and every single one has been a gem. If you want to swing the whole lane with ease later in your league or tournament, this is your go to ball. It just floats through the fronts, hit the backend, and then just explodes off the backend for a huge down-lane reaction. If you have used the OG, the S.E., or the Blood Red, you'll see the same faithful reaction that so many people love. If you haven't had any, you should definitely start now and pick yourself up the Midnight Blue Jab and see why this ball has been so popular for so long

    Melee Jab - Midnight Blue

Posted by Robert Mockenhaupt on Aug 5th 2021

The Melee Jab Midnight Blue with the upgraded Savy Hook 3.0 cover gets thru the heads with ease and provides great continuation response in the mid-lane to backend. I drilled this with the pin up over the bridge just like I did with the SE. I see this handling more on the medium to medium-heavy oil patterns. Comparatively this ball is a touch stronger. All the power is still unleashed at the pocket. This ball will excel on a house shot for sure. Be sure to check out the Brunswick Bowling website for more information.
