The new Quantum Classic Black has been designed with 3.5 times more coverstock increasing durability and performance longevity with an amazing pin impact you not only see but hear! Why does more coverstock improve the pin action so much? More coverstock enhances the Coefficient of Restitution which is the ratio of the differences in velocity between two objects before and after a collision. The higher the restitution, the faster the pins will move after being struck by the ball, transferring that increased kinetic energy to the surrounding pins producing greater pin action! The combination of our Relativity Flip solid reactive coverstock with our high-density, redesigned Quantum Mushroom core, provides effortless skid through the front, maintaining axis rotation for the strongest backend reaction of any Quantum’s to date on medium oil lane conditions.

A great addition to the Quantum Serie
By: Marc-Andre Gagne on September 27, 2017

Here is the newest ball in the Quantum serie, the Black Quantum. This ball offers the same core as the other quantum but this one is wrapped up with the Relativity Flip solid coverstock with some compound on it. The cover is the same used on the Magnitude 035. The difference resides in the thickness of the coverstock. On the quantums, there is no filler, only coverstock. That means 3.5 more times coverstock and means more durability and a greater impact in the pins. I drilled mine with one of my favorite drilling, 55x4”x35. On the lane the ball is really clean through the heads with a sharp turn in the backend. Compared to my DV8 Creed, I play one board right with my feet and one board right with my eyes. The shape is similar but the cover stock is weaker. When the Creed begins to over hook and I can’t move too much left, I just switch to the Black Quantum . Compared to my DV8 Rumor, I play the Rumor one board right with my feet and on board right with my eyes. The Rumor is cleaner through the heads and rolls faster in the midlane. When the Black Quantum begins to over hook and I can’t move too much left, I just switch to the Rumor. For people with more speed, the ball can be sanded to a 1000 or even a 500 grit. Don’t forget for the US costumer, you can get a quantum bag when purchasing a ball. You just have to fill up and send to Brunswick a form and you’ll get the bag. To conclude, if you wanna have a professional grade ball and a free bag, the Black Quantum is for you.

Black Quantum adds another layer to the Pro Line
By: John Judy on September 05, 2017

I loved the Fire Quantum from last year and I was excited to see another Quantum added to the line! This ball is the perfect blend of the Forrest and Fire Quantums. This ball gives you more down lane motion than the Green Quantum, but starts up earlier and is more continuous than the Red Quantum. I see this ball as a very versatile piece depending upon what you're looking for in your arsenal. It can be the go to benchmark ball or what you go to when your big asymmetrical balls start reading too soon. It also helps to get the FREE 3-ball tote with purchase! See your local Pro Shop operator to see where this ball would fit in your bag. John Judy Northside Pro Shop Brunswick Regional Staff

Classic Black Quantum Review
By: MIke Freundel on September 05, 2017

The Black Quantum is the newest release in the Quantum line. For some reason, I always do pretty well with the solid black bowling balls. I really like the length and backend of this new Quantum. I chose a pin up layout in the middle of the grip line with just a slight kick right of the CG and no extra hole. While unless there is a good bit of hook on the lane (which I have not seen in my area so far this season), this will not be the first ball out of my bag. The last game of league, or later in tournaments are where this ball will shine. It clears the front of the lane with ease, but stands up strong and has a pretty sharp motion off the end of the pattern. Those who look for long and strong will love this new Quantum. It is a much stronger reaction down lane than the Red Quantum which would tend to be a little lazy for me when there was some carry down.

A great skid-flip ball!

Just loving this ball! Mine is drilled 70X4X35 and using out of box finish. I've been searching for a shape to replace my old Radical Ridiculous and this ball for me has similar characteristics. It clears the fronts and midlane beautifully and really picks up at the right time on the backend. Definitely a different shape than the other balls in the Quantum line. Just be cautious with it on heavy volume patterns, you might want to hit it with a 1000 or 1500 pad if you plan using it against that much oil. But a really nice piece to add to your arsenal when your equipmemt that reads earlier is having trouble getting to the spot. Jeff Poholsky Brunswick Staff

Classic Black Quantum
By: TB on August 04, 2017

The third installment of the Quantum series takes the best features of the previous two and combines them to make the Black Quantum. The core is the same as the previous two Quantums, however the Classic Black features the Relativity Flip solid cover. I drilled my Classic Black 60 x 5 x35 which puts the pin right above my bridge. This ball is very clean through the front part of the lane with a strong arcing, almost flip like motion on the backend and drives through the pins! The motion of the Classic Black Quantum reminds me a lot of the reaction I got from my old C-System Versa Max except a much stronger ball overall. Just throw the ball to the friction and watch it go! This ball will work well on medium patterns and most house conditions and is suitable for all styles.

Great ball

I drilled my Black Quantum with the pin above both fingers with the cg kicked an inch and a half with a hole on my axis. For me this is by far the cleanest and most continuous quantum of the 3. It's extremely controllable for the amount of angle this ball has. It falls directly in the middle of the green and fire quantum. Personally for me it reminds me of the old versa max except its more cleaner and more angular. When my green quantum is burning up and losing energy, I can just switch to the Black without hesistation. Highly recommend this ball for medium length and medium volumes. Ian

Some Classics just get better with age!

The centerpiece of the QUANTUM line, the Classic Black Quantum is the best of the Forest Green and the Fire Red combined! It has the overall hook of the green with the length and snap of the Fire. Combined with 3.5 times more cover than conventional balls you get better hitting power, 30% more longevity, and an instant classic in your bag. https://youtu.be/fvhJTBZdAFY
