Additional product information:

For nearly 10 years, the premier choice for symmetric performance on medium to heavy oil has undoubtedly been the Phaze II. In order to create a truly worthy counterpart, we decided to keep things as simple as possible. The exact same colors in the Phaze II have been used in the Phaze II Pearl. The only difference is they are in a pearl form. The cover has also been upgraded to TX-25. Through extensive testing, it was obvious the pearl cover needed to be stronger than the solid in order to maximize performance. The Velocity Core perfectly blends an early revving motion with an assertive, yet controllable backend. The Phaze II Pearl broadens the spectrum of performance within the Master line by bridging the gap between the original Phaze II Solid and IQ Tour series.

    Yup

Posted by Thomas Szczepaniak on Dec 20th 2025

The Phaze II Pearl has been a very reliable ball when the lanes begin to transition for me. Now while I have actually never had the original Phaze II, this ball is making me second guess that decision. Right now I am able to play a touch straighter with this ball when the lanes begin to transition and there have been a couple times that if the outsides are moving I can get away with sending out and it has no issues recovering and getting through the pins. I am very happy I gave this ball a shot as it has made it into my tournament bag rotation.

    O She rolls!

Posted by Todd Pawlak on Dec 20th 2025

Well, where to start, but this ball for me hooks more than I thought right out of the box. A little to much down lane motion where I bowl. One of the best smelling bowling balls for sure! What I did was hit it with a 3000 pad, and get a little lane shine, (1 night of league) and it rolled a lot better for me. This ball to me reads the lanes pretty easy, rolls very well, and reacts very well. everybody is different, myself it rolled well just a bit to much snap on the back end, but nothing but a simple surface adjustment and it fits in perfect!

Phaze 2 Pearl- the wait is finally over

Posted by Darren Wong on Dec 19th 2025

Ever since the Phaze 2 burst on the bowling scene almost a decade ago, everyone has been clamoring for a pearl version. While there were iterations (Phaze 3, Phaze 4, Phaze 5, Phaze AI, none were actually the same core (Phaze AI had AI core) with same cover as Phaze 2 (the 3, 4, and 5 all had R2S). But now, it’s finally here. The cover is beefed up to TX-25 (2025 version updated from original TX-16, 2016 version) which is needed for today patterns. While TX-25 is stronger than TX-16, the pearl allows it to easily clear the front part of the lane, but then dig in down lane. The tried and true Velocity core has medium/low 2.48 RG with 0.051 diff in the 15# which has plenty of flare potential to fit multiple layouts. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 2. It did exactly what I had hoped. The Phaze 2 Pearl does not feature AI (amplified inertia) in the core. I feel like AI in the core gives the ball a little more torque and makes it get off line and forward a little quicker. So the Phaze 2 Pearl has that nice rounded continuous ball motion. It fits at the low part of my middle of the bag. It’s a Pearl asym that pushes with ease through the front part of the lane, reads the mid lane and continues on the back end, through the pin deck. It is a must have in your bag.

    Phaze II Pearl

Posted by Michael Slatky on Dec 17th 2025

Storm Phaze II Pearl Coverstock: TX-25 Pearl Reactive Finish: Power Edge Core: Velocity Core (14pd.) RG: 2.53 Differential: 0.050 Layout: 5 x 4 x 4 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Storm Phaze II Pearl features the iconic velocity core and the upgraded TX-25 coverstock. The Phaze II Pearl will be that perfect ball in the arsenal for your high to medium/medium type conditions where you want great continuous reaction through the pins. At the OOB finish the Power Edge finishing process appears to be a good addition. Most bowlers I have talked to are using the Phaze II Pearl OOB. For me, I hit mine with 4K on a spinner because I prefer to "crack" the showroom finish on my pearl gear. The Phaze II Pearl provides nice length and great motion off the spot. In comparing the Phaze II Pearl to the Phaze A.I. I was pleasantly surprised the Phaze II Pearl went through the front part of the lane but picked up slightly quicker than the Phaze A.I. This is due to the upgraded coverstock on the Phaze II Pearl. I feel the cover update will help carry out those pesky corner pins that the Phaze A.I. would tend to leave at times. Down lane the Phaze II Pearl shows a distinct strong shape however it is not as rounded as the Phaze A.I. I'm looking forward to how these balls vary from one another as transition occurs. I'm definitely excited to test the Phaze II Pearl over time and truly believe this flagship ball will be the best one to date. P2P!

Posted by Joshua L. Shoemaker on Dec 16th 2025

The Phaze ll Pearl is SPI’s newest Master line release. The Phaze ll Pearl (P2P) features the same Velocity core found in the OG but is now wrapped in TX25 pearl. I have gotten a lot of comments from people wondering why another Phaze ll with a pearl cover needed to happen. The short answer is that this is the first true pearl Phaze ll. The P2P has the exact same base cover as the OG with a pearlized additive. The P2P reminds me a lot of the remake Marvel Pearl that came out around 8 years ago now and something the line has been desperately missing. The P2P for me has been the perfect second ball out of the bag in league when I need something cleaner without giving up too much control. Now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! The Phaze II Pearl has arrived!

Posted by Rick Klimowicz on Dec 15th 2025

After 10 years of the industry-standard Phaze II, Storm has released Phaze II Pearl. Yet the question remains: was it worth the wait? Well, after two weeks of rolling the Phaze II Pearl, the results left me believing Storm has created another winning success with the Phaze II Pearl. So, let's take a closer look at the Phaze II Pearl and see why it might fit into your arsenal! The Velocity Core has been a benchmark of success for the Phaze line. Inside the original Phaze II, you could always count on the Velocity core to be smooth, clean, and predictable shot after shot. I found the same to be true inside the Phaze II Pearl. Inside the Phaze II Pearl, I found the Velocity Core to be very stable, and I appreciated that even with a pearl coverstock, the Velocity Core reads the mid-lane smoothly while building momentum as it makes its way down the lane. The Velocity Core inside the Phaze II Pearl has plenty of stored striking power as it drives through the pins. Furthermore, I believe the Pearl coverstock provides slightly more continuation with the Velocity Core in the Phaze II Pearl than in the original Phaze II, but the difference is marginal. I like that Storm kept the Velocity Core untouched in the Phaze II Pearl, but as a straighter player, I can only wonder how the Velocity Core would have been with A.I. Technology wrapped around it! However, given that Storm wanted to make the Phaze II Pearl a sister to the original Phaze II, the Velocity Core remains the industry standard that no matter what, you can count on it to deliver! The TX-25 Pearl reactive coverstock is a strong pearl mixture that bites as the Phaze II Pearl rolls down the lane. I drilled my Phaze II Pearl aggressively, and I liked how the TX-25 enhanced that layout to fit my straighter, low-rev style. With the factory Power Edge finish on a THS, I could see a well-defined skid, hook, and roll motion from the Phaze II Pearl. However, because of my lower rev rate, the TX-25 tended to go a bit too long for my liking, so I tweaked the TX-25 Pearl with a light 4000-grit Abralon pad to take some of the shine, and that tweak made my Phaze II Pearl crisp off the pattern without being jumpy. It also gave me the extra edge to roll through the pins without deflecting, leaving me with corner pins because of my lower rev rate. There is one caveat I would like to discuss regarding the Phaze II Pearl or the original Phaze II. I would not suggest altering the surface of the Phaze II Pearl too dramatically, as you still want that pearl reaction, just as I would not suggest polishing up an original Phaze II to make it go longer. The Phaze II and the Phaze II Pearl are created similarly but differ for a reason, so I suggest leaving the Phaze II Pearl to be a Phaze II Pearl and the Phaze II to be a Phaze II. I believe if you combine both of these two Storm benchmark balls, you will get a one-two punch that will undoubtedly bring you excellent, predictable results. In closing, I believe Storm did a great job with the Phaze II Pearl. Storm kept the Phaze II Pearl genuine to its brother, the Phaze II, but gave the Phaze II Pearl its own uniqueness that provides the consistent and predictable results any straighter player would like to have in their arsenal! I think the Phaze II pearl augments the original Phaze II quite well and will create a great one-two punch on any THS. So, stop into your local Storm VIP Pro Shop today and put the Phaze II Pearl in your arsenal next to the original Phaze II and let your scores do the talking! Phaze II PearlReview

Posted by Glenn on Dec 14th 2025

Ball Specs: Storm Phaze II Pearl TX-25 Pearl Reactive Cover Power Edge Polished Velocity Core (Symmetric) Layout 4 x 4.5 with 1-1/2 Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: Bowlers have been waiting on the Phaze II Pearl a long time and will not be disappointed. With the love and trust bowlers have held for the original Phaze II, Storm had to get this ball correct, and they did! The pin carry of this ball is excellent. The Phaze II Pearl hits as good as any A.I. Core produced balls so there is no problem there. The Phaze II Pearl strikes a lot for me. My first game out of the box was 258, so first impressions were excellent. I left the box finish on this ball and don’t see a need to alter it. This ball is stronger than my Typhoon but weaker than my Equinox Solid in total hook. I love how the Phaze II Pearl turns the corner and drives through the pins. While the Original Phaze II may be better for tournament conditions or when you need a smooth read, the Pearl can really open up the lane when you use the friction. I manly tried it out on our house shot and it rolled great and carried well while using different parts of the lane with very good success. This ball allows you to use it for a long time before making any big moves or adjustments. This ball has already been selling well at our shop, and the reviews have been very good. feedback is very positive. Anyone wanting a medium-strong ball with good length and a strong back end and hit will be pleased with this ball. I think this will be a versatile ball that will have many applications on the lane and fit many types of bowling styles. Summary: The Phaze II Pearl rolls great and hits hard. This is the Phaze Storm fans have been waiting for. The Phaze II Pearl should have good longevity in the catalog. Glenn Wendel Storm Pro Shop Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.stormbowling.com

Storm Phaze 2 Pearl Review by Casey Murphy

Posted by Casey Murphy on Dec 11th 2025

Orientation: Right Handed Rev Rate: 400 RPM Speed: 16-17 MPH PAP: 4 1/8 over and 1 up Location: Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume THS VLS Layout: Layout 1: 4 3/8 x 4 x 2 ½ (Pin above bridge) Layout 2: 4 x 4 x 3 7/8 (pin below bridge) Strength Rating (out of 10) : 7 Shape: Skid Snap Best Use: Medium/Heavy Oil Transition The Phaze 2 Pearl is the best pearl Phaze ever released. ALL of the other Phaze Pearls (OG Phaze, Phaze 4, Phaze 5, PHaze AI) all rolled completely differently than the Phaze 2 Solid. Like not even the same family. The Phaze 2 Pearl feels EXACTLY like a Phaze 2 Solid, but just cleaner with more backend. It’s literally the PERFECT Compliment to the Phaze 2 Solid. Absolute homerun no brainer from Storm. If you loved your Phaze 2 Solid but where MEH on the other Phazes, don’t worry, get a Phaze 2 Pearl. You won’t be sorry.

    Storm Phaze II Pearl

Posted by Dannial Cohen on Dec 9th 2025

Storm Phaze II Pearl Since 2016 the Phaze II Pearl has been one of Storm's most popular balls so it's only fitting that we now have the Phaze II Pearl and it has been the most requested ball to be made. RG-2.48 Differential -.051 Symmetrical Core Finish-Poweredge The Phaze II Pearl features the velocity core which was used in the original Phaze II wrapped with the new TX 25 Pearl Coverstock. I drilled mine 5x4x2 using the VLS Layout System which gives me a quicker response to the friction so it allows me to open up my angles and create more backend motion. This one is very simple to describe where it fits in the Storm lineup it's built to compliment the goat Phaze II with cleaner motion through the fronts with a stronger motion on the backend. Phaze II will be your start on fresh oil then when you need more length and backend Phaze II Pearl is the choice.

Storm Phaze II Pearl – WWRD 11/28/2025

Cover: TX-25 Pearl Reactive Core: Velocity RG: 2.48 RG. Diff.: 0.051 Finish: Power Edge Fragrance: Frosted Cinnamon Roll Storm’s new Phaze II Pearl is a Pearl Symmetrical piece that is good for Medium Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 380. Speed: 16.5. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. 5 x 4 x 2 ½. I threw this piece on a Fresh house pattern. Out of Box ball motion was clean through the fronts, started later than the Phaze II Solid down lane, with a strong motion on the backend. I compared this to the Phaze II. Phaze II was 3 - 3 right of the Pearl. It started earlier in the fronts with a smoother motion on the back end. If you like the original Phaze II, the Pearl is a good 2nd ball to go to when the Phaze II is not able to get through the fronts later In the blocks. This piece will be good for all types of styles. Phaze II Pearl fits between the IQ Tour and Phaze II. Check Out the Ball motion Video on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16dhzmgoq7/
