900 Global Cove
Cove, along with Ember, adds a whole new dimension to the SPI lineup! I personally have really missed a mid-diff symmetrical option for those medium house shots and older lane surfaces where the big stuff just doesn't store enough energy. The Cove, with it's hybrid coverstock, creates a nice mix of traction and downlane continuation. Honestly, this ball hooks more downlane than i anticipated, which makes it more usable than other symmetrical balls with smoother covers. This ball fills a much-needed gap for me, along with the Ember, and they are both gonna round out my league bag nicely! You don't wanna miss this dual release! The perfect 1-2 punch. -Chase Valenzuela

Cove Review
Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 1/2 Surface: 4000 Abralon Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The brand new 900 Global Cove brings a brand new core and coverstock combination in the 800 series lineup. The Cove uses the new Magna AI Core which is symmetrical to bring a low rg and medium differential that has not been in the line since the Xponent. The coverstock is the new Hybrid S85 which offers a quite of bit of control with ample continuation to use as more of that benchmark type ball. On my 44ft typical house pattern, the Cove matched up really well on the fresh as expected. Its controllable nature allowed the ball to read the front and middle parts of the lane fairly well while not trying to be angular downlane. This is the ideal ball motion for most fresh conditions. I was able to use this ball a little straighter than most other balls in the line on the fresh but was certainly not as forward as a urethane type ball. As the lanes transitioned and I had to move to the inside part of the lane, my carry became a little hit and miss. Its control aspect became a little too controllable at times and I often left the corner pins. A change in hand position to add axis rotation allowed the ball to get down the lane a little further and give more angularity down lane which allowed me to continue striking more. I was actually surprised how strong the coverstock felt on this Cove. I think it will be a nice benchmark piece on a variety of conditions where the lane surface isn't great. It will still be a step below the Sublime Focus in quick comparison as the core and coverstock are noticeably weaker. The cove would be most ideal for those bowlers who like controllable ball motion and those who like to play straighter up the lane. It will be best on fresher lane conditions or a ball down from the Sublime Focus. Shining up this ball will give a little more length and backend but will still be pretty controllable overall. 900 Cove ball review by Mike Craig
I drilled up my COVE with a 5 x 4 x 2 which is a standard layout for me on smoother pieces. I left it box finish (4000) to start for a reference point. I compared it to my SUBLIME FOCUS and ZEN25 on a couple of conditions. The COVE to me was a little less than my FOCUS and a little earlier than my ZEN25. The marketing of the piece by 900 Global is spot on as you cannot go wrong if you are looking to plug in a middle of the bag piece. One thing I did notice was my COVE was very smooth at the breakpoint. My FOCUS could get sideways quickly and the ZEN25 definitely was sharper on the backend of the lane. I always thought of my FOCUS as a "poormans" PHAZE II but the COVE is close to that smoothness. With only a 4000 finish on it at the factory, the COVE did lane shine quickly. I touched it up with 3000 wet to give it some of that giddy up and it was like it came out of the box again on how it gripped the lane.

Great Symmetrical Hybrid
Pattern: 40ft House Shot Layout: 70 x 4 1/2 x 40 Finish: Box (4000grit) The Cove by 900Global features a new symmetrical weight block called the Magna A.I. which has a dual-hemisphere design that provides a consistent ball reaction. This ball is completed with the RB 85 Hybrid cover at 4000 grit finish. At first, I was thinking this ball wouldn’t do much for me on fresh conditions. Honestly, this ball rolls like a controlled Asymmetrical Hybrid. Hard off the spot and consistent reaction. This ball finishes with a lot of power as well, it doesn’t lose much energy at the front or midlane. Very impressed with this ball and hope that you all don’t sleep on this one. 900 Global Cove – WWRD 8/15/2025
Cover: RB 85 Hybrid Reactive Core: Magna A.I. RG: 2.49 RG. Diff.: 0.044 Finish: 4000-Grit Abralon 900 Global’s new Cove is a Hybrid Symmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. I threw this piece on a left over house pattern. Out of Box ball motion started in the mids with a smooth shape on the backend. I compared this to the Zen 25 and Sublime Focus. Zen 25 was 4-4 more. Sublime Focus was 2-2 more. This piece fits between the Zen 25 and Ember. This piece will be good for all types of styles. Check Out the Ball motion Video on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17AbTfirAA/

Cove
I drilled the new 900 Global Cove to be a middle of the bag option, and that is exactly what I got! I drilled this new ball with the pin above my bridge and the CG in my palm to give the most control possible. Naturally i think this ball is super controllable, but adding a controlled layout helped it even more. This ball is the perfect ball to start with if you plan on bowling leagues this fall. The brand-new core/cover combo gives you a unique shape compared to the rest. I see this ball fitting in the "RockStar" area of the bag. 10/10 from me!

900 Global Cove
900 Global Ember & Cove – SPI’s Latest Additions Deliver Versatility and Precision The 900 Global Ember and Cove are the newest additions to the SPI family, and both bring unique motion characteristics that fill key gaps in any competitive arsenal. I drilled both at 4.5 x 3, and despite sharing a layout, they each offer distinctly different shapes that I was looking to add to my bag. ? Cove – RB 85 Hybrid Coverstock The Cove fits perfectly between benchmark pieces like the Optimum Idol, Phaze II, and IQ Tour. It’s an ideal choice for fresh conditions or that early transition period when the lanes start to change. The RB 85 Hybrid cover gives it a smooth yet responsive motion, making it a versatile first-ball option. ? Ember – Bridging Control and Backend The Ember fills the gap between my IQ Tour AI and Road Warrior. It’s a bit cleaner than the IQ Tour AI through the fronts, but with more defined shape down lane, offering great control without sacrificing backend pop. Bottom Line: Both the Ember and Cove are going to be staples in the bags of serious tournament players or league bowlers looking for performance on both fresh oil and during transition. Whether you're building a new 6-ball arsenal or just need that next piece to round things out, these two are worth a look.

Cove
900 Global Cove Coverstock: RB 85 Hybrid Reactive Finish: 4000 Abralon Core: Magna A.I. (14pd) RG: 2.50 Differential: 0.043 Layout: 5 x 4 x 3 7/8 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Cove features the new Magna A.I. Core. What you will see right away is that the Cove is smooth and well balanced with the RB Hybrid coverstock giving the Cove slightly more pop down lane as compared to a prior 900 release the 900 Global Xponent. At the time, the Xponent was highly regarded in the arsenal but a bit overshadowed by some other SPI pieces. However, the Cove has had a hot start during trade show season and testers are really liking results. The Cove comes with a hybrid coverstock, finished at 4000 Abralon. You can expect a good benchmark type of look from the Cove. The Hybrid coverstock will not hook to early and after a few games will settle down nicely. I tested the Cove out on THS and after about three games rolled it on the Don Johnson (40') pattern. The ball is very predictable which is the true strength of the Cove. In my opinion the Cove goes through the pins a tad better then its predecessor two generations ago the Ordnance C4. The Cove will be a great option as a starter ball out of the bag. Cove
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Type: Lakes Bowl House Shot BALL: 900 Global Cove Coverstock: RB 85 Hybrid Coverstock Core: : Magna A.I. Core Finish: 4000 Grit RG: 2.50 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.043 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: NA (14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 14-15 mph Rev Rate: 220 PAP: 5 7/16 Right 1/8 Down Ball Layout: 50×4½×50 Cove is one of the two newest releases from 900 Global. At the time of testing this ball I found it to be the closest to the Hy-Road 40, but the Cove was a tad stronger. Coming in with a 4000 surface allows this ball to save the energy for the reaction you are looking for to be strong off the pattern. I started going up 5 and kept moving left and after about 10 more boards the ball was maxed out and had to go to something a little weaker. That's where the Ember will come into play where the Cove stops. 900 Global Cove review by Lonnie Pemberton
LANE CONDITION Length:43 Volume: Med-High Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS COMMENTS Core: Magna A.I. Core Coverstock: Reserve Blend 85 Hybrid Finish: 4000 Grit Abralon RG: 2.49 (15lb) Differential: 0.044 (15lb) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 Axis Tilt: 14° Axis Rotation: 74° PAP: 5 1/8 R 7/8 Up Ball Layout: Pin Over bridge 5 X 4 X 3 VLS 900 Global has released some new equipment in their 900 line. The new hybrid ball is called the Cove. It features a smaller core than you saw in the zen line. The drop in differential is complimented by a new RB85 cover that features a rapid oil absorption rate. This gives you an incredibly consistant mid-lane read with great continuation. I tested the cover for the first time in league. I figured with it's mid differential I would have to square it up a bit more. I gotta tell you this cover gives you more than you'd expect given the core numbers. I was at least as far left as I was accustomed to playing with my Zen 25. The shape is definitely mid-laney and smooth. It really reminds me of the XPonent in the mid-lane. If there was anything the X-ponent suffered from it was that is saw the mids so hard it stuggled to finish when covering boards. The Cove corrects that and as a result is one of my new favorite pieces. I honestly didn't go into the ball with high expectations but I think this ball is gonna be a surprise for a lot of bowlers. It looked great first game out. I did change out of it just because I had other balls I wanted to test that night, but another look at it the next day revealed that it was still in play at the end of the league session. It also seems to respond well to hand position changes so it's pretty versatile. This ball should be a fantastic tournament piece but it is great on the house shot too. I feel like this is one of those balls that might fit different parts of the bag for different people but that will be useful for everyone.
