Such is the case with their new releases of the Cove and Ember! In this review, let’s take a closer look at the Cove and how its symmetric Magna A.I. Core and RB85 Hybrid Coverstock cultivate the outstanding performance any bowler could ask for, at a mid-level price that dominates the competition. From my first roll with the Cove, I found the all-new symmetric Magna A.I. Core to be smooth-rolling, stable, and, most importantly, vigorously predictable off the pattern for my older, low-rev hand. Yet, the Magna A.I. Core doesn’t stop there. With the added A.I. Core technology wrapped around the Magna Core, I found my Cove to have a powerful punch at the pins and a relentless continuation that made striking that much easier, enjoyable, and fun. I further discovered that the Magna A.I. Core provides the Cove with a well-balanced rolling motion, making it a dependable workhorse that will deliver results for any straighter player, like me. The icing on the cake for me about the Cove was the outstanding Reserve Blend (RB85) Hybrid Coverstock. As an older, straighter, and low-rev player, Hybrid coverstocks suit my game best, especially on a THS. The RB85 Hybrid on the Cove is the perfect blend of solid and pearl, providing me with the predictable balance of consistency and aggressiveness I love to have in my arsenal. I loved how the RB85 Hybrid clears the front part of the lane with ease, regardless of the changing conditions you see during league play. Furthermore, I could count on the RB85 Hybrid to consistently read the mid-lane with its smooth, dependable traction and without depleting the Cove’s energy. So, when the Cove comes off the pattern, it has that crisp and sharp punch we straighter players like to see, especially when we hit high-flush! So, if you’re a straighter player, you can count on the RB85 Hybrid coverstock to deliver results. In conclusion, 900 Global has done an outstanding job in creating and formulating the all-new Cove! The Cove is an excellent combination of benchmark and power! With the all-new Magna A.I. Core and the RB85 Hybrid Coverstock, the Cove will certainly bring results to any straighter player’s game. So, stop into your local Storm VIP Pro Shop today and have your 900 Global Cove ready for this season’s league, as the Cove is the mid-priced powerhouse that will save your wallet yet destroy the competition! Great ball

Posted by Nicole Wilson on Sep 2nd 2025

I was very shocked of how much I liked this ball. I put my favorite layout on this which is 50x4x20. This ball is so smooth yet strong. It has become a favorite in my bag so far, especially on tough sport shots.

Cove Review by Kyle, Joel, & Dean Johnson

900 Global Cove Cover: 4000 Grit RB 85™ Hybrid Reactive Core: Magna™ + A.I. Core (Symmetrical) Color: Blue/Sand/Teal Review: 900 Global is really hitting the mark with their releases as of late and we are really excited for this 1-2 punch that was introduced at bowl expo this year in the Cove and its sibling Ember. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 5x4x2 (pin is above bridge). This is one of those bowling balls that is a home run for us. Hybrids tend to be that ball that just works on so many conditions and houses in the PNW region. The Cove seems to retain energy for days. It is literally as if the Xponent and the Origin had a baby. Overall it does hook less than the Origin and is smoother front to back similar to the Xponent. This is definitely a “benchmark” type bowling ball shape wise. If you are looking for something very strong and angular to start out when seeing heavy oil this probably isn’t the best option for you. If you are looking for a smooth and predictable shape that you can use for multiple games then this works great. The colors are definitely louder than some others on the shelf and we hope this release doesn’t get overlooked. Cove

Ball Specs: Roto Grip Cove Cover 85 Blend Hybrid Reactive Magna A.I. Core (Symmetrical) Finish 4000 Abralon Layout 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The Cove is one half of a two-part release in the Roto Grip line. The intent is to pair the Cove and Ember together to cover a wide range of lane conditions. The Cove has a unique color that is very nice to see on the shelf and rolling down the lane. The Cove has a 4000 finish that gives the ball an early roll but not too early. The shape is smooth and controllable, and the ball goes through the pins very well. The cover can be scuffed up easily to give even more grab on heavier oil. I have tried 2000 on mine and may leave it there due to my lower rev rate and to achieve a wider gap between it and the Ember. I feel the Cove will allow you to be aggressive on a fresh pattern while maintaining a predictable back-end motion. There are already a good number of my customers talking about buying the Cove and Ember as a set fall the fall leagues. If you are looking up the Cove on Storms site, try out the Ten Pin Toolkit to get a layout pattern recommendation. This is a very nice feature and the few bowlers I have plugged in as test subjects seem to match up with the information and data provided. Summary: The Cove has a new eye-catching color. This ball is smooth and predictable. we should see a good number of theses on the lanes in the fall. Glenn Wendel Sidewinders Pro Shop Storm Pro Shop Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.stormbowling.com

    Cove by RGR

900 Global Cove Ball specs: All new Magna A.I. core with a new aggressive RB85 hybrid coverstock with a factory finish of 4000 grit. My Specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 15/16th up 3/16th. Tested on Pro-lane surface on a 43ft medium volume house pattern and 37ft sport pattern. The all-new 900 Global COVE is new from every aspect. Developed by the great minds at SPI, the COVE was engineered to add an aggressive hybrid to the already popular Global line up. Global’s signature single core density continues with the all new Magna A.I. core to deliver consistency down lane shot after shot from the fresh condition and through the breakdown. Geared towards the traditional house pattern lengths and volumes, the new RB 85 hybrid cover adds an aggressive cover above the other THS balls like the Rock Star and Equinox. For me, I drilled it 2 x 6 x 3, one of my favorite layouts I used for league play, and the ball performed well above my expectations after seeing the ball being used at Bowl Expo 2025. The consistency of the reaction was very impressive. Stronger reaction than my Rock Star and RST Hyperdrive Solid, but less angular than the Gremlin and Ember. The COVE won’t replace my Rock Star, but when the Rock Star is not quite enough strength in the backend, or when the Gremlin or Ember is too angular in the back end. A strong alternative benchmark ball over the Rock Star, iQ Tour series, or Phaze II. #SquadRG #3GShoes #ViseInserts #CoolWick #BowlersSupply #abcnorthlanesandlounge

    900 Global Cove

Posted by Chris G on Aug 31st 2025

The Cove is a great ball to start your night off with. I can really utilize the fresh with this ball from the start. Expect this ball to be a nice continuous motion in the backend and nothing to sharp off the back, very controllable. I find this working well around the fresh and into the transition phase. If you’re looking for something to throw on the fresh and can use during transition, this is one to have in the bag. Cove and Ember are ones to keep together in the bag, they work very well together.

    Cove

The Cove is a hybrid that was missing in the 900 Global brand. It’s very versatile for multiple lane conditions. My layout is 4 3/4 x 4 1/8 x 4. The layout is pin down, which allows me to keep my angles closer to the pocket, and allowes me to start on the fresh conditions. The Cove is very predictable, drives through the pins great, and fits the gap in the 900 Global catalog! Definitely a great ball to start off with.

900 Global Cove Review by Casey Murphy

Posted by Casey Murphy on Aug 30th 2025

Orientation: Right Handed Rev Rate: 400 RPM Speed: 16-17 MPH PAP: 4 ½ over and 1 1/8 up Location: Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume THS VLS Layout: Layout 1: 4 5/8 x 4 x 2 ½ (Pin above bridge) Layout 2: 4 ¼ x 4 x 4 (pin below bridge) The new Cove surprised me. I was not expecting to like this ball, even though it looks great on the shelf. But I was very wrong. This ball is strong but not crazy strong and it revs up nicely and stays continuous. The hybrid cover makes sure it comes off the friction well and the continuous rev’ving motion really fits the eye. I’d be very comfortable throwing this ball on a lot of conditions. Fresh and for a good long time in the transition. I think eventually it would get a little slow but that’s when the Ember could come in. Don’t sleep on this Cove like I did, it’s a really good piece!

The 900 Global Cove is 900 Globals newest 800 series ball. The Cove features the Magna A.I. core wrapped in the RB 85 hybrid cover and finished at 4000. The Cove helps bridge the gap between the bigger symmetrical balls like the IDOL and balls like the !Q Tour and Ultimate Wrecker. The Cove is now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! Cove

Posted by Todd Benner on Aug 28th 2025

The new 900 Global Cove features an all-new core design, the Manga A.I. core. The coverstock is the Reserve 85 Hybrid coverstock in blue/sand/teal to add shelf appeal. At 15 pounds the Cove has an RG of 2.49 and differential of .044. I drilled my Cove 5x5x2 which puts the pin above my bridge. The Cove’s cover helps it through the fronts. This ball really picks up in the middle of the lane and has a slow response time to friction. The backend motion is very even in an arcing motion. This ball is perfect for fresh conditions with medium volume and length. The ball motion allows me to play straighter angles and play closer to the friction without having the ball overreact. As the night went on and I had to continually chase the pattern left and open my angles a bit, that’s where this ball got out of its comfort zone and I started to leave weak corner pins. Luckily, Global 900 introduced the Ember to be the next ball out of my bag. The Cove will be a great ball for lower rev players who are looking for a very controllable but strong ball.
