Additional product information:

We're excited to introduce a brand-new coverstock material, RB 89 Solid Reactive coverstock, that we have not used before. It is one of the cleanest materials we have ever produced. Made to get through the front of the lane much easier than previous materials.

The solid version was chosen to give people a clean look through the front of the lane with predictability downlane instead of a clean and sideways motion like you would normally see.
Purposely engineered for medium heavy to heavy oil.

The Ellipse Asymmetric A.I. Core makes it more even rolling with more mass towards the center and less towards the poles.

With great continuation, this is a great option for bowling centers with a lot of friction. We created this ball with some of the older lane panels in mind.

    900 Global Origin EX

900 Global Origin EX Ball Review Layout-5.25x4x2 Surface-2000 Grit Dull RG-2.48 Differential-.050 Intermediate Differential-.020 Asymmetrical Core Coverstock-RB89 Solid Reactive 900 Global Origin EX uses the same core as the original Origin wrapped with the new RB89 Solid coverstock. The RB89 coverstock is designed to be cleaner through the fronts but still reads the midlane with a continous smooth motion on the backend. The Origin EX will be a great compliment to the original Origin. The Origin EX will be a great ball to start with on fresh oil and then when you need more lenth and backend the Origin will be a great choice.I feel like the Origin EX is not as early as the Roto Grip Rst Hyperdrive or the Storm Ion Max.So if you need a ball for heavy oil and the bigger balls are too strong Origin EX will be a great choice.

    A New Origin!

Posted by Duane Enterline on May 24th 2025

The 900 Global Origin Ex has been a good addition to my bag. I have used it on a burnt up house shot as well as on a 41feet pattern. It worked well on the burnt up shot, but I have other options that would have looked better. On the Sport shot is where this piece shined. This ball is strong, but not overly strong where it feels like it hooks at your feet. I get a strong continuous motion from the midlane to the backend. I also feel this will be great on a fresh house shot as it will even out the over under you can see on some house patterns. If you liked the origin and looking for a piece that is a little earlier and a little more rounded, this is the piece for you.

    Origin Solid

Posted by Trevor Kopas on May 24th 2025

Pattern: 43’ House Shot Layout: 80 x 4 1/4 x 40 Finish: Box (2000 grit abralon) The Origin EX provides a perfect complement to it’s predecessor in the original Origin Hybrid. The Origin EX features the same Ellipse A.I. core paired with a newly designed solid coverstock in the 89 reserve blend. This allows the ball to clear the fronts with ease with a more predictable backend motion. You’ll still get it to rip off the spot but without being too sharp/unpredictable. Throwing this on my league house shot, this ball was very controlled. I was able to play right with more ball speed and open up the pattern moving left with less speed. It’s a very versatile piece. I could see this being a great sport shot piece as well because it seems to push through volume and remain controlled in its movement. I’d highly recommend this ball for any bowler looking for an asymmetrical piece that still remains predictable in its motion. Trevor Kopas Storm Staff Ambassador Pro Shop Operator #Bigboybowling

    Origin EX by RGR

900 Global Origin EX Ball specs: Ellipse Core with A.I. outer core technology. Coverstock is the all new RB89 solid reactive and finished at 3000AB for my usage. Layout: 2 x 6 x 2 My updated specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 15/16th up 3/16th. Tested on Pro-lane surface on a 44 ft house pattern with lower volume used for the junior and senior leagues, a 44 ft house pattern with larger volume, and patterns that ranged from 33 ft to 39 ft sport patterns. Adding the 900 GLobal Origin EX to my league bag was a complete “no brainer”. Before drilling I looked at what I currently like in my current THS bags for the 2 centers I bowl league in during the summer, which have different lane panels, one has older HPL and the other one has newer Pro-Lane. Both centers use the new Kegel Atlas machines with similar THS patterns in length and volume. So I wanted to add a new solid piece that was stronger overall than my Rock Star and Hustle X-Ray. The Origin fills that gap very well by being clean in the front part of the lane, and not having the early hook that typical solids would have, and has a controllable and very consistent motion even on the higher friction HPLs. The Origin EX does not quit even as the pattern breaks down during the league or tournament time on the lanes. The cover has stayed remarkably sheen and the cover seems to be very durable. I can say 100% that I never had a strong core solid asymmetrical ball be this resilient and consistent like it is since the original Roto Grip Cell was released years ago. Origin Ex- great versatile, controllable ball

Posted by Darren Wong on May 24th 2025

I hadn’t drilled many 900 Global balls since the Sublime because they tended to roll forward quicker than the rest of the SPI brands. I like to see a more rounded continuous ball motion. But lately I’ve realized the quicker, forward rolling shape can work well for me when there is a defined hook spot causing the continuous ball motion to cut through the face, forcing me to open up the front part of the lane too much. I drilled an Origin and really liked it. So when I saw the new Origin Ex being through on TV a lot, I had to drill one for myself. The Ex features a new coverstock- Reserve Blend (RB) 89, a solid reactive. The cover is weaker/cleaner than the RB93 on the original Origin even though the Origin is hybrid. For the Ex, the idea is to put a cleaner cover on it to allow it to push easily through the fronts, but because it’s solid it will have a controllable downlane motion rather than being angular. The Ex comes out of the box with 2000 grit. It has the same Ellipse A.I. core as the original Origin, so the numbers are the same (2.48, 0.050 and 0.020 for the 15#). That RG gets it revving, but again the weaker cover still allows the Origin EX to float easily through the front. Then, it truly is controllable in the midlane with a smooth continuous downlane motion. I threw it out of the box at State tournament and struck 8 of my first 9 shots. I drilled mine pin up, 4 ½ from my PAP with PSA 4 which gave mine that controllable, continuous ball motion I like to see. I imagine if I stood the weight block up taller with a 5 ½-6” pin, it would give that more forward rolling downlane motion if that’s what you are looking for. The Origin Ex fits right in the middle of your bag as a great controllable, versatile, asymmetrical ball.

    Origin EX

900 Global Origin EX Coverstock: RB 89 Solid Reactive Finish: Power Edge Core: Ellipse Core with A.I. (14 pd) RG: 2.49 Differential: 0.050 Int Diff: 0.020 Layout: 5 x 4 x 4 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Origin EX features a Reserve Blend 89 coverstock that is new and a bit unique for the 900 Global line of bowling balls. Initially, I was unsure how this ball would be compared to other similar releases. To my surprise the core/cover are a homerun. One thing you will notice the core is a completely different shape but the "numbers" are similar to other 900 releases such as the Sublime and the Sublime Focus. The Origin EX is an asym offering compared to a sym so the shape you see will be much different. What does this mean to you? It means your Origin EX will give you some front lane forgiveness and a controllable shape. It also means when your big asymmetrical balls start to labor The Origin EX will fit in as needed. Also, this ball can be a number one ball out of your bag for most conditions. A good ball within the 900 Global line to compare The Origin EX to is the Origin. The reason why is the Origin concept is great but the finish untouched can make this ball check quick down lane and lose some of its punch. Specifically the Origin OOB was a touch clean and a bit late off the spot on higher volume surfaces. The Origin EX at 2K appears to match up much better with what I like to do. My speed tends to be slower, so bigger balls burning up early can be a common occurrence before I change surfaces or let lane shine build up. The Origin EX fits great as a "bigger" ball in my bag of tricks. For me, I did not do any surface adjustments on The Origin EX. It was not needed and I'm satisfied with the OOB surface as is. 900 Global Origin EX – WWRD 5/16/2025

Posted by Patrick Dombrowski on May 19th 2025

Cover: RB 89 Solid Reactive Core: Ellipse Asymmetric A.I. RG: 2.48 RG. Diff.: 0.050 Finish: 2000-Grit Abralon 900 Global’s new Origin EX is a Solid Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1” from the palm, and 1” Left of the Mass Bias. I threw this piece on a Fresh 43’ House pattern. Out of Box ball motion started in the mids with a smooth backend reaction through the pins. I compared this to the Origin. Origin was 2-2 left of the Origin EX with a more angular shape on the backend motion. The Origin EX will be a good piece to start the block on medium-heavy volume patterns, then switch to the Original Origin to get through the fronts when they start to burn up. This piece will be good for all types of styles. Check Out the Ball motion Video on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/15N7DxSwkA/

    Origin EX Review

Posted by Thomas Coco on May 16th 2025

The Origin was a huge game changer when it was first released. After a big success, it was time to upgrade, this time with a solid version. Introducing the newest addition to the 900 Global arsenal, the Origin EX. This ball is introduced with a brand new coverstock in RBB 89, one that hasn’t been used before. One of the cleanest materials produced, the Origin EX is designed to get through the front part of the lane much easier than previous coverstocks. Purposely designed for medium/heavy oil conditions, the Ellipse AI core gives the EX great continuation, amazing results! I drilled mine at 70 x 5 3/8 x 40. I tested it at my home center of Cortlandt Lanes in Cortlandt Manor, NY. Bowling on their league shot at 42ft, I was quite impressed with this ball motion. Normally, I find solid coverstocks to read the lane much earlier than usual, but when I threw the first couple of shots with the EX, it gets down the lane much further and cleaner, without being super aggressive. I haven’t seen this kind of ball motion as far back as the original Reality, which was also a big success. Once I saw some friction, and started moving right with my feet, the EX would still be properly in play, no snap and jerk, but still smoother and cleaner giving that perfect ball motion. I would highly recommend the Origin EX to all bowlers for contesting on both league and tournament play. It definitely has that benchmark feel for an asymmetrical ball. If you were a fan of the Origin, you will definitely be one for the EX. It makes a great 1-2 punch. Be sure to stop by your local pro shop and drill up an Origin EX, you surely won’t be disappointed with this great piece!! Thomas Coco (Storm Staffer)

    900 Global Origin EX

Posted by Chase Valenzuela on May 16th 2025

The solid Origin is HERE!! The Origin is strong, clean and continuous, and the Origin EX builds on that success! The EX is clean for a big solid, and the hook shape is very rounded and continuous. While the cover doesn't create a ton on traction in the front or mids, it is very consistent. Compared to the RST-HyperDrive, the EX is cleaner and rounder. The HyperDrive cover is stronger, and it stands up more downlane than the EX. This ball is in Reality territory, which means it's extremely useable for an asym solid. If you liked the Origin, you'll love the EX! -Chase Valenzuela
