Announcing the Ebonite Turbo X—a bold leap forward while looking at the past! We went into the archives to reimagine the very first reactive ball Ebonite ever created, and we’ve returned with an updated version that’s once again ahead of its time. The Turbo X keeps the original core shape simple and effective, but with a game- changing update: instead of a thick shell, we’ve wrapped the Turbo core in DynamiCore for increased durability and performance. This method allows for stronger core numbers, ensuring the Turbo X exceeds expectations on today’s lane conditions. And the most significant upgrade? The cover. We’ve fused Ebonite’s proven GB10.7 Solid coverstock with the HK22 base to deliver a reaction that meets the needs of modern bowlers. The Ebonite Turbo X isn’t just a ball—it's a piece of bowling history redefined.

    Turbo X

This has hands down become one of my favorite balls to throw and sometimes it’s the only ball I need. This updated version features dynamicore and HK22 base in a GB 10.7 cover. This ball is smooth and predictable letting you know exactly how the lanes are playing.

    Ebonite Turbo X

I had the original. Yes, I’m old. This ball with the HK-22 cover is so much fun to throw. Simply put, you can’t really find a time that this ball won’t explode off the end of the pattern. On a house shot, I enjoy just continuing to move left, and watching this ball continue to come back to the pocket. As far as tournaments go, when the heads go and the oil pushes down, the Turbo X goes to work. It gets through the fronts and has the power to make the turn still. I love this ball. It’s like seeing an old friend again!

    Turbo X is back!

Posted by Robert Mockenhaupt on Aug 10th 2025

The Turbo X is back. What can be said about this iconic bowling ball. With an overhaul to the construction; this ball provides that same motion on the lanes in the current environment. Out of box this ball provides excellent predictable motion and is ideal for medium/lighter oil; typically house shot conditions. At 1500 grit and 2.517 RG, it gets thru the front really nice giving you a skid/flip motion, storing its energy for the backend. I found that straighter angles worked best for this ball. Don’t be afraid to alter the surface. I would think at 1000 grit, the ball could substitute as a benchmark piece. Pick one up today and enjoy this iconic Ebonite ball.

    Ebonite Turbo X

Posted by Bob Newman on Aug 1st 2025

Many, many moons ago I was bowling in a US Open qualifier. Circa 1992. I was wrenching on my favorite Blue Hammer and could barely get it to wrinkle. A gentleman on the pair next to me was throwing the first ever Reactive bowling ball, the Ebonite Turbo X. Long story short, he won the tournament by a lot, and everyone was scrambling to buy a Turbo X. I drilled the new version recently and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces. It is very clean through the fronts and mids and has a strong rounded motion down lane. Much like the 1992 version, it strikes a lot. It passes the eye test. I like it

    Ebonite Turbo X

The Turbo X is a great addition to my bag due to the out of box surface of 1500 SiaAir finished with Factory Compound this ball is great for medium/lighter oil. I have used this ball on a shorter pattern and was able to have it glide through the oil and make a predictable and strong movement to the pocket. With the box finish the ball is very clean through the heads with a strong motion to the pocket. I did not own the original Turbo but this one is a great solid to add to my bag that provides length and finish and a cover that can be adjusted for earlier traction.

    It's perfect

Posted by Dominic Mottillo on Jun 16th 2025

Perfect. This re-envisioned version of the Turbo X is everything I expected and more. It's much stronger than I expected off the end of the pattern but it's still not a flare bomb. I have not thrown this one a lot but so far I'm loving the color, shape, and hitting power. This one will definitely get a lot more use this summer and into the fall league season.

This ball does exactly what I thought it would. I like the similarity to the original Turbo. It fits very well into my bag.
