Ball: Storm Concept WWRD: 2/27/26 Fragrance: Blueberry Fritter Layout: 45 x 4 x 20 Surface: OOB Review: The Concept is a ball that can be used for many conditions. Short oil, flat patterns, and even taming high friction surfaces. This ball is 100% reactive but gives off a urethane type motion. Testing Conditions: Burned up THS and Stone Street Oil Pattern. On the Burned up THS shot, it was on wood lanes. This ball was able to get the length I needed, make the turn and continue through the pins. It did not overhook and maintained a smooth continuous motion. On the Stone Street, this ball was ideal for playing the extreme outside. When it found oil for me, it labored. That is understandable because this ball performance best on lots of friction. I throw 14lbs with 250-300 rpm at 14mph, and I was able to get this ball jump off the spot very easily. The other thing I noticed is there was absolutely no "urethane" type push because this ball absorbs oil as it is reactive. The one thing I also noticed, if I miss it at the bottom it's still picks up the lane and reacts. Recommend use: Flat patterns, short patterns, high friction, and when you want to blend the over/under. When the IQ tour solid is too much, ball down to this! This ball will be carried everywhere I go because it is so versatile and can handle extreme conditions with ease.

You want something different? Then here it is. Storm is not only changing, but trying to make bowling better for all bowlers. There is very very little oil that comes back on this ball after throwing it. But when the lanes get tuff, or you want a little different reaction...Here you go. It reads the front part of the lane very well. It hooks, but doesn't over react. It's great for those wet/dry conditions, tournament conditions for a ball you can bowl, watch this ball, read its reaction and have fun with it. For me, I left it pretty much out of the box, added a little lane shine after throwing it a few games. It actually stays the way it is after a little lane shine and I like it better that way. One word to describe it...is different, there is nothing like it. You thought urethane was different for different lane conditions? This ball is a little better!

Best part is that the Concept is totally legal in competition! I did not expect as much hook and hit as I am getting with this ball. The Concept goes through the pins very well. When I get into the oil the ball does straighten out a good bit for me, but my higher rev friends to not seem to have an issue with that like I do. The Concept absorbs oil fast but will lane shine after a while. The ball is very early and smooth in motion and seems to always want to hook. It took me a while to get a hold of the look on the lane but the more I use this ball the more I like it. I am not sure how often I will use this ball, but it should find a place on shorter, flatter difficult patterns. The Concept has been selling very well at the shops and at the distributors so if you want one, I would grab one now. This may be a great ball for Nationals. I put total hook above my IQ 78D and IQ Tour Navy. Summary: The Storm Concept is a very controllable ball. The Concept has good hit and drives through the pocket hard. I compared the Concept to my Iq Tour 78/U Urethane ball and i found the Concept to be a little cleaner with more shape downlane but still allowed me to use it like urethane and still have alot of control. I also noticed the Concept had better hitting power than my urethnae options. The concept is going to be a great option on shorter oil patterns or when your trying to control the backends.

For me, this ball is all about control and confidence—it's basically that urethane-like motion but with way more hit and continuation. It gets through the fronts clean, reads the midlane smoothly, and never feels like it’s going to overreact or quit, which is huge on flatter or tougher patterns. I’ve found I can play a little straighter with it and just trust it to stay online and blend the lane, especially when reactive starts getting too quick or inconsistent. With this mixture it gives the ball a very controlled reaction. I was looking to this ball more for sport patterns than house shots. What I have come to find out is that it is great on both. On house shots I can throw this ball usually the first 2 games and it creates all kinds of room. It rolls so smoothly off the friction and does not overreact. With the strong cover, it still is able to hook in oil in the middle part of lane. The thing that surprised me the most about this ball was the carry of corner pins. So many times where I thought it was coming in a little flat, it would still snap out the corners. Also trying it on a couple sport patterns, I feel like where this ball really shines. Where I would try the IQ 78 and it just was not quite enough, or would get lazy, the Concept would just power through. I was able to create some area that I just did not have with anything else. This will definitely need to be a ball in everyone’s tournament bag.
