Ion Pro Solid
Storm Ion Pro Solid - Premier Line Coverstock: TX-16 Solid - Power Edge Core: Element Tour A.I. RG: 2.47 Differential: .035 PSA: .014 (15 lbs) Fragrance: Blueberry Donut Layout: 5 x 5 x 3 PAP: 6" Right, 1 3/8" Up Axis Tilt: 16° Rotation: 51° Rev Rate: 450-500 Speed: 17-18 mph Location: Vista Lanes - Yorkville, NY Pattern: Kegel Carbon Lane Surface: HPL The Ion Pro Solid builds off the success of the Ion Pro Hybrid and creates another shape in the Ion series. It features the proven TX-16 solid cover that was made famous by the Phaze II, polished with Power Edge and is paired with the Element Tour A.I. asymmetric core. This cover/core combination will produce a predictable reaction that clears the fronts and maintains energy for a strong continuous backend motion. The Ion Pro Solid gave me a great look sliding on 30, looking 18 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. If I wanted to play straighter I could get softer with my hand and stay more up the back of the ball. As I moved left, my ball reaction continued to look good with more tilt and slower ball speed. The Ion Pro Solid is cleaner than both the Ion Max and Ion Pro Hybrid, while fitting between the two when it comes to overall hook potential. The Ion Pro Hybrid has been one of my favorites and the Ion Pro Solid will be an excellent compliment to it because it is 3-4 boards stronger and creates a quicker downlane reaction. I can see the Ion Pro Solid being a great ball for league and medium challenge patterns or the ball that I go to after a sanded solid asymmetric like the Ion Max starts to burn up. I’m excited to put the Ion Pro Solid to the test in league and tournaments. Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out! Available on June 20th. Iion Pro Solid
ION PRO SOLID Drilled it 70 x 3.5 x 25, a maximum flip layout. Used box surface on a fresh 43ft house pattern. First impression was, a shinney solid, don’t know if its still going to grab early. Well it didn’t! You hear it on every review. The ball is $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Very clean, was still smoother at the breakpoint. Didn’t scrub off its energy too quick, and just destroyed the pins. 10 back, slinging messengers, heck even the ones a pulled held its line and got the 10 out, where normally I would leave a weak 10. So yeah, definitely this one is staying in the bag! #stormnation

ION PRO Solid
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Lakes Bowl House Shot BALL: Storm Ion Pro Solid Coverstock: TX-16 Solid Core: : Element™Tour A.I. Core Finish: Power Edge RG: 2.59 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.046 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: 0.010(14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 14-15 mph Rev Rate: 220 PAP: 5 1/2 right 1/4 up Ball Layout: 60×4×30 This ION series brings the heat with each release. I became a fan of the first ION Pro and it was really good on a house shot and then the ION MAX came out and was a bigger version of the OG ION and I really became a fan! Now we have the ION Pro Solid and it’s exactly what I thought a ball should be if you put the first two together. The ION Pro Solid takes the best of each ball by having a smooth clean reaction with stored energy for a great motion on the back. I started in the track standing on 20 and hitting the 2nd arrow, but very quickly found myself moving left to keep the ball online. I can see this ball doing ok at a league level but for tournament play this ball will shine and this is backed up by how many PWBA and PBA50 players were using this ball at their US Open. Ion Pro Solid - The New Benchmark Ball
Storm Ion Pro Solid Coverstock: TX-16 Solid Reactive Finish: Power Edge Core: Element Tour A.I. (14 pd) RG: 2.51 Differential: 0.036 Int Diff: 0.010 Layout: 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 3 1/4 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Ion Pro Solid features Amplfied Inertia (A.I.) core technology. The Element core as you would expect will help the Ion Pro Sold in providing a predictable shape at the end of the pattern. As A.I. core technology has been a proven technology over several releases that means a few extra percentage points of carry can be anticipated. For my review, I compared the Ion Pro Solid to the Ion Pro. The Ion Pro Solid, as with the Ion Pro, will fall between a Phaze II and !Q Tour. For me, the Ion Pro was closer to my !Q Tour, the Ion Pro Solid is a tad closer to my Phaze II. Also, the layouts I chose for my Ion Pro and Ion Pro Solid allow me to keep my angles tighter and less steep for sport patterns I prefer to play on. Both of my Ions I have rolled on a standard 43' house pattern to test along with the Phaze II. The Ion Pro Solid transitioned smoothly through all phases of ball motion. The Ion Pro with its hybrid cover is a touch more angular downlane. Still a great option for the bag, but enough differences that you can utilize both Ions. My Phaze II, which is stronger would labor slightly as transition occurred. BTW, the Phaze II is still an all time staple for SPI. I recommend the the Storm Ion Pro Solid for the player seeking straighter angles as lanes transition. I'm definitely excited about this ball from Storm. Ion Pro Solid
Review by Nicholas Hogan on the Ion Pro Solid This is what I’ve always wanted the original !Q Tour to be for me, I am a lot more forward than most and for some reason the !Q Tour just doesn’t match up well with me, but this, this is smoooooooth. I was able to throw it on both the 42 ft 28mL Singles/Doubles pattern and 44ft 35mL pattern at the Greater Ozarks Open for 2025 and it performed outstanding, the shiny solid really works for this ball smooth through the fronts and a smooth backend transition. I hope this ball sticks around for as long as the !Q because to me this is my new benchmark shiny, I believe this ball can be recommended for everyone its that good, lots of revs, little of revs. High tilt, low tilt, high track, low track. Speed dominant, Rev dominant….I think you get the picture. To top it all off. It looks great going down the lane! Nicholas Hogan Do You Bowl Pro Shop Storm Pro Shop Staff Minnesota
