Viking Review
Ball Specs: Global Viking Cover Reserve 90 Blend Hybrid Reactive Strobe A.I. Core (Asymmetrical) Finish Power Edge Layout 4.5 x 4.5 x 2 Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The Viking is a nice-looking ball that is very clean though the front with an angular motion upon meeting friction. On our fresh house shot the Viking went a bit too long for me but played well as the lanes broke down. The Viking has an angular move at the breakpoint and pin carry is very good. I feel the box surface will be good for the higher rev bowler or those with slower speed. At the box surface I would put this ball above my Origin EX and below my original Origin in total hook with the Viking having more back-end motion than both. I am a bit speed dominate so I sanded my Viking to 1000 than ran Rough Edge lightly on the ball to finish it with a light polish over some grit. This surface prep allowed the Viking to read the lane earlier and produced more hook with only a slight decrease in back end. Surface prep is easy and can help tune ball motion. Summary: The Viking is a good transition ball. This balls surface can be easily adjusted. The back end and hit are very good with the Viking. Viking
The new 900 Global Viking features the new RB90 hybrid coverstock finished with Power Edge, along with the all-new Strobe AI core asymmetrical core. At 15 pounds the Viking has an RG of 2.51 with a differential of .052 and an intermediate differential of .016. I drilled mine at 5x5x2 which puts the pin right above my bridge. If you love the Origin, you are going to absolutely love the Viking. The Viking is a little later and more angular on the backend than the Origin with a similar amount of overall hook. For me the Viking has better usability than the Origin. What I mean by that is I can throw the Viking longer than I could stay in the Origin. The Origin was good on the fresh, heavy oil conditions. The Viking is much better when the lanes start to break down, and I need something to open up my angles. The Viking reads the midlane very well and still has a strong backend motion. Not skid/flip by any means but strong and angular…very controllable. This ball is a must have for any 900 Global fan. Don’t sleep on this one!

Viking Review
Layout: 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2 Surface: Power Edge with light 2000 abralon on top Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The brand new 900 Global Viking gives a pretty unique motion in the 900 Series lineup. The new Strobe AI core has a very unique shape to drill the ball in many different ways while still achieving good ball roll. The new RB90 Hybrid coverstock was added to this ball to give a strong, yet angular motion on the backend of the lane giving that pretty unique shape that you know will hook on a variety of patterns. On my 44ft typical house shot, I saw pretty good length with the Power Edge Finish. The ball is designed for more of the transition games then on fresh so I was not too surprised on this. My higher ball speed in general tends to make shiny coverstocks go too long for the most part. I was able to play around 12 to 5-8 on the fresh which is my ideal location for this pattern. I saw a little too much length and response to friction causing a lot of 10 pins. I then hit the ball's surface with a 2000 abralon pad lightly to knock off a little of the power edge polish. What I saw afterwards was a motion stronger in the midlane while still having that same backend strong motion. This is more my ideal motion. My next few shots actually started to hook a little too much leaving 4 pins. I was able to move 3 and 2 left with my feet and saw great continuation. I was more in the ideal spot on the lane which was about 15 to 7-9 down lane. This again showed that it is a better ball for the transition. After transition happened a little more, I was able to get as far left as 20 at the arrows without worrying about the ball getting too long down the lane. The higher asymmetry of .016 makes the ball stand up a little faster than symmetrical balls in the same spot. As the Viking got a little too forward down lane, a ball down to the Ember would be the next move. Compared to the Origin, the Viking gives a lot more length and backend due to the weaker coverstock in the Viking. It makes sense to potentially have both of these balls in the bag if you like the motion of the Origin and need a ball for more oil. The Origin will give an earlier and smoother shape overall where the Viking will give more length and a more angular backend. The Viking is pretty predictable for what it is which is why I feel it is unique. I know it is going to see the lane properly from many locations on the lane and on many patterns. I recommend this ball for someone who likes to see midlane roll and a strong backend motion. It would also be a good step down from the Origin and Origin EX as it will give more length and more angle than both balls. This Viking is designed more for the transition but can have a chance to be used on the fresh with a surface change usually removing the power edge polish. Adam Chase Storm Staff

Dual Angle: 55 x 4 1/2 x 70 Storm Vector: 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 4 1/8 The 900 Global Viking features the RB 90 Blend Hybrid Cover stock wrapped around the Strobe A.I. Asymmetric. Everything I saw about this ball reminded me of the ever popular Attention Star so I drilled my Viking pin down to be a complementary piece to the Attention Star. This ball has been fantastic so far. I really love how clean the ball in through the front part of the lane and how responsive it is on the backend. Even on heavy oil this ball still finds a way to hook for me. I really enjoy how strong yet controllable this ball has been. If your looking for a replacement or complement to the Attention Star this is the ball for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv7EVK9f-qc

Awesome bowling ball
Yeah buddy! Loving mine, I love the way it rolls. It has an AI core, Asymmetrical, Hybrid reactive, Power Edge Factory finish. Once the oil carries down during transition and you need a ball with the back end to over come it...This is for sure the ball to have in your bag. Its ready for a battle out there. Such a great ball for the mid lane reaction and the added back end when the oil carries down. I have mine drilled 4 1/2 x 5 x x 3 and she scoots! Close to an Origin, for me reads the mid lane a little sooner and then makes more or a snap on the back end. I really like it, and its fun to have in your bag!

900 Global Viking
900 Global Viking - 900 Series Coverstock: Reserve Blend 90 Hybrid - Power Edge Core: Strobe A.I. RG: 2.51 Differential: .052 (15 lbs) PSA: .016 Layout: 5 x 5 x 3 PAP: 6" Right, 1 3/8" Up Axis Tilt: 16° Rotation: 51° Rev Rate: 450-500 Speed: 17-18 mph Location: Vista Lanes - Yorkville, NY Pattern: Kegel Carbon (Terrain Conditioner) Lane Surface: Anvilane The Viking has arrived and it’s ready to conquer the lanes! The Viking features the Reserve Blend 90 hybrid cover along with the brand new Strobe A.I core. The RB 90 hybrid cover was specifically crafted to generate a balanced reaction with the solid component providing traction and the pearl component optimizing responsiveness. The Strobe A.I. core was designed to push the boundaries of asymmetric performance, making the Viking the most responsive hybrid in the 900 Global line. When the lanes begin to transition and you need to see a stronger change in direction off the end of the pattern, the Viking will be an excellent choice. In game two of league, the Viking gave me a great look sliding on 32, looking 18 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. As the lanes continued to break down, I kept moving left and had no problem with getting the ball through the pins. When compared to the Origin EX, the Viking was significantly cleaner through the fronts with a quicker downlane motion. The Origin was a go to ball for me last season and I can see the Viking having the same potential this year. On tougher tournament patterns when I need to control downlane reaction, I would start with the Origin EX, then go to the Viking. On the house pattern, the Viking was great games two and three once the pattern stretched out and transitioned. The Viking sets a new standard for dynamic core technology while delivering unmatched power with every shot. Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out! Available on November 21st. Viking
The layout is 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/4 (50 x 4 1/2 x 35 using the dual angle layout) This ball honestly gets the job done! The RB90 Hybrid Coverstock with the Strobe A.I. core gives a great midlane read and strong backend reaction. This ball provides a stable and balanced ball motion that I am looking for on medium-oil lane conditions, or for when the lanes start to transition. The Viking is simple for my game, and gives me such a predictable motion. Because of this, I know how this ball will perform once it hits the lanes. This ball will definitely be in my arsenal, as it will be a ball that I can trust during transition or can use on a medium length pattern for league. Make sure you go and get yours! ?⚔️? 900 Global Viking review by Lonnie Pemberton
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:44 Volume: Med-High Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS COMMENTS Core: Strobe A.I. Cover: RB 90 Hybrid Reactive Finish: Power Edge RG: 2.51 (15) Differential: 0.052 (15) PSA: .016 ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 Axis Tilt: 14° Axis Rotation: 74° PAP: 5 1/8 R 7/8 Up Ball Layout: Pin Over Bridge 5 X 5 1/4 X 2 1/2 VLS The 900 series from 900 Global may be the strongest line on the market this year. The Origin has been a fantastic success. It's core shape created a unique ability for the ball motion to adapt to conditions beyond what I had seen from any other ball. The next release adds a slightly cleaner/quicker option to the line. The Viking features the all new Strobe AI core wrapped in a strong hybrid cover. This combination looks fantastic on the higher volume patterns in use for both league and sport conditions today. It doesn't miss the spot and it doesn't stop it's motion. I tested the Viking on a broken down house pattern. I was a little worried that I may have gotten to the lane too late for a ball as strong as the Viking. I was happy to see I could still get the ball through the front without to much effort. I was pretty comfortable right away and I put together a pretty easy 250 game right out the gate. I moved in against the ball return before I really needed to just to see how the ball would react from further left. I was really surprised at how much area I kept. Our pattern is 12 to 1 so you would expect area but because the front panels have so much built in friction, you usually have to bring your breakpoint in with your feet if you hope to keep carrying. The big balls usually struggle to cover boards so moving to that part of the area too soon can make the backends feel really wet/dry. The Viking was able to combat this problem better than any of the current balls I've tried this with. I usually opt to stay closer to the friction longer to let the lane develop more before moving in but I really felt like the Viking made it so I could play either line without sacrificing carry. I could see this ball being exceptionally useful for players with more ball speed than me on sport conditons. It's very good at reading the right part of the lane without needing a ton of surface. I feel like that would keep it in play for more games in tournaments with long blocks of games. It's also strong enough for rev challenged league players and I think could match up well for some of them as well. Sometimes as a PSO your end up matching those bowlers up with weaker balls just so they can see more change of direction off the dry. I think this ball could work in that spot on fresh and transitioning lanes. 900 Global Viking – WWRD 11/21/2025
Cover: RB 90 Hybrid Reactive Core: Strobe A.I. RG: 2.51 RG. Diff.: 0.052 Finish: Power Edge 900 Global’s new Viking is Hybrid Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 380. Speed: 16.5. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1.5” from the palm, and Thumb 1/2” Above of the Mass Bias. I threw this piece on a Fresh house pattern. Out of Box ball motion was Clean through the fronts with a sharp backend reaction through the pins. I compared this to the Origin. Origin was a similar line to the Viking but started in the mid part of the lane with a smoother backend. This piece fits between the Origin EX and the Origin. Viking!
The Viking is 900 Globals newest high performance piece. The Viking features the Strobe AI core wrapped in RB 90 hybrid. The first thing I noticed while throwing this piece is how much cleaner it is through the front part of the lane than the Origin. The Origin for me was much better when the lanes are tighter and I need to use more closed angles. The Viking for me has been awesome when I need to move left and open the lane up. The Viking reminds me a lot of the UFO Alert which is one of my all time favorite asym pieces! Review Video: https://youtu.be/gCoLVDnXMn4?si=1mODhE2C9KXgt91-
