Additional product information:
We're excited to introduce a brand-new coverstock material, RB 89 Solid Reactive coverstock, that we have not used before. It is one of the cleanest materials we have ever produced. Made to get through the front of the lane much easier than previous materials.
The solid version was chosen to give people a clean look through the front of the lane with predictability downlane instead of a clean and sideways motion like you would normally see.
Purposely engineered for medium heavy to heavy oil.
The Ellipse Asymmetric A.I. Core makes it more even rolling with more mass towards the center and less towards the poles.
With great continuation, this is a great option for bowling centers with a lot of friction. We created this ball with some of the older lane panels in mind.

Origin EX ball review
I am slightly speed dominant, rev challenged 220-250ish, low tilt and high rotation. The 900 Global Origin EX is a strong asymmetrical solid reactive with high flare potential. I drilled mine 40x 4.5 x 30. My axis point is 4 3/8 over 1 3/8 up. I love this ball for medium and high oil conditions. This ball gives me a strong, smooth, and predictable ball motion on fresh high friction lanes. This is the perfect league shot ball that I can start right with, with a little bit of added surface to it. Strength & Control
The Origin EX is a STRONG asymmetric piece, which translates to early, smooth, and very rolly. I drilled mine 4.25 x 5 x 2.5 to give me a strong read in the middle part of the lane, and something that will never not see the breakpoint on fresh conditions. I will say I got exactly that. It reminds me a bit of the Dark Code from a few seasons ago, only more usable for me due to the cover being solid. For me, the Origin EX much prefers straighter angles. When I move left with it, there's a high probability of something left in the back row due to so much energy being expelled in the middle of the lane. This is not a bad thing when you're looking for control on fresh oil, or tougher patterns. It is easily the strongest ball in my bag, and is very receptive to hand position changes. When I do get around it on purpose, I'm able to strike from further inside, I just have to commit to what I'm doing at the bottom and not decide I'm going to just roll it forward at the last second and see what happens. If you need a ball for fresh conditions, over/under cliffs, or situations where control is the priority, this is an incredible choice.

900 Global Origin EX Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
The Origin EX is the latest addition to the small, but very thoughtful lineup at 900 Global. One item to note about the 900 Global brand is that they don’t produce as many balls per year compared to Storm or Roto Grip, but each ball has a specific intention and purpose behind it. The Origin EX fits that mold and I’ve been impressed with it so far. The Ellipse core remains the same like in the original Origin, but the coverstock is a bit different (Reactive Blend 89) which is designed to be extremely clean, but smooth. I’ll have to say, this is the smoothest asymmetrical ball I’ve ever drilled, hands down. Normally, we see asymmetrical balls either read the lane early and provide a slow response time down lane, or we see a really clean cover and a super quick response time, but the EX is different. The coverstock is super clean but the response time is pretty slow, which is nice because it’s different. I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. It’s mapped out as 5.5 x 5 x 2. This puts the pin above my middle finger and the CG just to the right of my thumb. I haven’t touched the surface and because the cover is so clean, it allows me to keep my angles tighter if I want to and the ball won’t get off line, or, I can move left and shape it without having a super quick response time. This ball can be used in so many places on so many patterns. It’s a staple in my bag moving forward. Go drill one!

900 Global Origin EX - A solid that goes long?
The Origin EX is the solid version of the Origin hybrid that was released about 6 months earlier. Normally a solid will read the lanes a bit earlier than the hybrid version, especially when finished at 2000 like the Origin EX is. 900 Global has designed the ball to be good for higher friction lanes and smooth control. All I can say is that they nailed it! I was very skeptical that a ball with a 2000 grit finish wouldn’t hook at my toes, but it is absolutely a solid that gets down the lane and doesn’t snap like shiny equipment does. How they did it is beyond me, but I really believe this is going to be a great ball on sport shots that need control and even on overly clipped house shots that need to blend out the over/under. 900 Global Origin EX
Layout: 5.5 x 5 x 3 The Origin Ex is a ball I can either start the night off with or switch to during transition. Don’t let the look of the cover fool you, this ball may look like it wants to hook out of the building, but gives you good motion through the fronts with a smooth backend motion. This has been the first ball out of the bag for me and when the lanes start to transition it can still be used as well when the lanes start to breakdown. For me I can get a little left and even when the ball gets to the dry, I still get the smooth overall backend motion down lane.

900 Global Origin EX predictably in the bag
900 Global Origin EX Ball specs: Ellipse Core with A.I. outer core technology. Coverstock is the all new RB89 solid reactive and finished at 2000AB. (14 pd) RG: 2.49 Differential: 0.050 Int Diff: 0.020 The Origin EX features a Reserve Blend 89 coverstock that is new and a bit unique for the 900 Global line of bowling balls. The Reserve Blend 89 is designed specifically for high-friction environments, this cover gets through the front part of the lane with ease, reducing the risk of early hook while offering a controlled, readable shape downlane. RB 89 Solid gives bowlers a smooth, stable motion—offering the kind of consistent motion that bowlers can rely on when friction is high. What is also unique is the Ellipse A.I. Core, is designed to push the boundaries of asymmetric performance. This core generates an exceptional, consistent torquing reaction that powers through even the toughest lane conditions. This core also gives you maximum energy retention and an aggressive backend motion. The Origin EX will not disappoint you whether you’re facing beat-up lane panels or just need something smoother in your arsenal, this core and cover combo can deliver a clean predictable look with no compromise! Review
The solid counterpart to the hybrid Origin, the Origin EX can be used on fresh to medium type conditions. Cleaner than the stronger asym solids, such as X-Cell or Ion Max, the Origin EX will get past the front part of the lane much easier, preventing burnup and providing better continuation down lane. I have found success with the EX on fresh house conditions and on tougher conditions where this ball is more of a transition piece as the lane begins to develop and I begin to migrate left and open my angles up. This ball is still on the smoother and controllable side and can hit different gaps in one’s arsenal pending what their needs are.

Origin EX
I drilled the new 900 Global Origin EX 5x4x2 using VLS. This ball follows up the original origin but features a smoother cleaner solid coverstock. The marriage between the RB 89 solid cover and the elipse core gives you a smoother option for when the lanes are fresh, or transitioning. This ball fits in the 2 spot in a 6 ball arsenal for me. Allowing me to open my angles up on the fresh but still have that nice and smooth motion. I highly recommend picking one of these up!

900 Global Origin EX
Layout: 35 x 4 1/4” x 40 The Origin EX is one of the most interesting releases from SPI in quite some time – this is one of the few times when the description of the ball given by the company does not match my experience when using the ball. The original Origin is one of my favorite SPI bowling balls from the last couple years. It gives me a medium amount of overall hook and has a good amount of backend hook, while still being very controllable. The Origin EX has all of that, while picking up the lane 3-4 feet earlier. Due to that, the idea of the cover being “clean” does not really match up to what I see, at box finish. What I get is a ball that is very smooth and controllable, while still best at home on medium to medium-heavy oil conditions. The cover will not dig into oil as much as an Ion Max or RST Hyperdrive, which makes the Origin EX a great step down from either of those 2 bowling balls.

Origin EX
LANE CONDITION: Length: 42 Volume: Medium Type: THS COMMENTS My Layout: 4 x5 x 2 VLS SPI description: The **900 Global Origin EX** is a powerhouse designed for bowlers who need control and consistency on high-friction lanes. Featuring the **Ellipse Asymmetric A.I. Core**, this ball delivers a smooth yet strong motion, making it a reliable choice for those looking to maintain predictability without sacrificing power. Performance & Design The *RB 89 Solid Reactive coverstock* ensures the ball clears the front part of the lane effortlessly while providing a controlled backend motion. Unlike some aggressive solids that tend to overreact, the Origin EX blends the lane beautifully, offering a stable and repeatable shape. Its *2000-grit Abralon finish* enhances traction, making it ideal for medium to heavy oil conditions. #### On the Lanes Bowlers who tested the Origin EX found it to be a great option when transitioning from stronger asymmetric solids. It provides a **controlled arc** rather than a sharp snap, making it a dependable choice when lanes start to break down. The ball’s ability to maintain energy retention ensures **strong continuation through the pins**, reducing deflection and improving pin carry. My Review: Close to 30 games and a few surface changes Tested on Bowlero 42' THS medium fricition trying to get a similiar reaction to my Reality Check playing up 9-10 board at the arrows to start the Origin EX was cleaner up front with a smoother transtion in OOB condition. For me the ball needs slightly more head oiul and more friction at the breakpoint. I needed to stay firm with less miss in. 10 games in I polished it with Power Edge at 800 grit. Same pattern but more energy retention and continuation thru the pocket. Better overall usage for me as a step down game 2 ball with this adjustment. Next adjustment was @3000 no polish. Smoother with better control of the dry and better off pocket strikes. Added polish with 3000 and now I had a ball to stay in my bag. Overall I give this a solid "A" for cover versatility and 8.5 for longer usage. The Origin EX has a place in your bag, a place for all styles. Enjoy the strikes from ever angle and every style. #strikingworldwide #stormnation
