The Conquest has been a sneaky success at recent trade show events. This is due to the control and easy to follow motion of this ball. For me, most big asym ball offerings I tend to shy away from. As an older two-handed player I prefer more length due to my slower ball speed. To note at Pure It Pro Shop we made sure to sand the surface smooth with 3K pads to ensure I could get the Conquest through the front part of the lane at our local centers. As compared to the 900 Global Viking you can anticipate less length and early reaction off the spot. In my opinion, the 900 Global Viking was a nice offering so the Conquest was a must try for me. The surface and drilling modifications have worked out great and I'm liking what I see out of this ball. My speed tends to be slower, so "bigger" asymmetrical balls burning up early can be a common occurrence and get forward quickly. The Conquest gives me what I need in a bigger ball for higher volume patterns. This solid blend is exactly what I need in the bag for my starter asym equipment. One final note to point out is that lane beds in the eastern region are continuing to get older and older. The need to create length and control with bowling ball offerings is continuing to grow. Storm released a new version of the Viking from their 900 Global line called the Viking Conquest. It features the same Strobe A.I. Core as the original Viking. But instead of Reserve Blend (RB) 90 Hybrid which meant there was some pearl in the Viking cover, the Viking Conquest is RB 94 Solid Reactive. So it’s a stronger, fully reactive coverstock with no pearl in it. I’d say in terms of cover strength, the Viking Conquest is one of the strongest covers of all the SPI balls, right up there with the Ion Max. The RG is higher (2.51 in the 15#) so it should be a little cleaner through the front and save a little more energy giving it a little more pop on the back than the Ion Max. The diff and PSA dif of 0.052 and 0.016, respectively give it plenty of flare potential. I drilled mine 5 ¾ x 3 x 1 ¾. I was looking for a complement to my Origin which is drilled the same way and has been a really good ball on the fresh, when I wanted the ball to stay online, then make a fairly quick change of direction to create a hook set type ball motion. I threw it a little out of the box and the cover was pretty strong. I put Power Edge polish on it and that helped it clear the fronts. I think both cover options work depending on the pattern and what you are looking for. I haven’t really thrown it a lot because I haven’t bowled on patterns where it really fit. But from what I’ve seen, the Viking Conquest is a really good option for a top of the bag ball in your arsenal. If you are looking for a strong asym, the Ion Max, RST Hyperdrive, Equinox Solid and Viking Conquest are the balls you would choose from in this part of the arsenal. I think the Viking Conquest fits right in between the Ion Max and RST Hyperdrive and Equinox Solid, where it will have a little more skid and back end than the Ion Max, but is a stronger cover and more overall hook than the Equinox Solid.

The 900 Global Viking Conquest features the same Strobe A.I. core as the original Viking but the Conquest features a new Reserve Blend 94 solid coverstock. At 15 pounds the Viking Conquest has a RG of 2.51 with a differential of .052 and an intermediate differential of .016. I am a huge fan of the original Viking ball, so I drilled the Viking Conquest with the same exact layout of 5x5x2 which puts the pin above my bridge. I was surprised at how clean the Viking Conquest is despite the aggressive solid coverstock. I was afraid this was going to be one of those big hook balls that loses energy halfway down the lane. That is not the case with the Viking Conquest. This ball gets through the front part of the lane surprisingly well and really picks up in the mid lane but still has a good strong backend motion. The Viking and the Viking Conquest make a terrific 1-2 punch. The Conquest for me is 3-4 boards stronger than the Viking. The Conquest is the first ball out of my bag, and then when I need a little more length with a tad stronger backend motion I go to the Viking. In my opinion, the original Viking is one of the most underrated and underappreciated releases of the year. Don’t make the same mistake with the Viking Conquest…another winner from Global 900.

The Viking Conquest by 900 Global is the latest addition to the Batch 900 Blend and it’s the strongest ball in the current lineup. Our gurus in Utah have created the RB94 coverstock which is the strongest version that’s been made to date. If you drilled a Viking or saw one go down the lane, that ball gave us a clean and whippy motion, but the biggest difference between that and the Conquest is the coverstock. This ball is digs hard and still provides a strong motion at the end of the pattern. I’ve drilled one so far and have had a bunch of honor scores with it. It’s mapped out as 5 x 3.5 x 1. This puts the pin a fair distance above my ring finger and the CG just above my thumb. I like the shorter pin-VAL distance to try and maximize flare without the ball burning up. Also, I put a small amount of polish on the Conquest just to take some of the teeth out of the cover. That’s helped the ball retain energy but still dig hard in the mid-lane. I feel like the Conquest compliments my Viking, Rocket AI, and Gremlin Tour-X extremely well. If I’m following a bunch of urethane or if there’s some sludge down-lane, the Viking Conquest plows through it extremely well and it’s currently in my bag wherever I go! Go drill one!

The Viking Conquest has been a pleasant surprise with its smooth, dependable motion and impressive versatility. It gets through the front of the lane cleanly, reads the midlane with confidence, and provides a strong, continuous backend that isn't overly sharp. Whether I'm bowling on fresh conditions or navigating transition, the Conquest gives me a predictable reaction that allows me to stay aggressive while maintaining excellent control. It's a ball I can trust when I need consistency and great pin carry.

The 900 Global Viking Conquest has been an outstanding addition to my arsenal. Mine is drilled 55×4.5×40 with a PAP of 4 1/8" right and 7/8" up, giving me a strong, forward-continuing motion that excels on higher-volume oil and shorter sport patterns where controlling the backend is critical. The Conquest reads the lane with confidence and keeps its motion predictable through the pins. I've also found that adding polish transforms it into an excellent option for blending out the wet/dry on a typical house shot while still maintaining its strong, reliable shape. Its versatility and predictability make it a ball I can trust whenever I need a controlled, continuous reaction.

I love the 900 Global Viking, so I had to get the Viking Conquest. I bought 2, getting one drilled pin up and the other pin down. I love how the Conquest goes down the lanes. Its a high flaring, Heavy oil, Fresh Oil ball. The new RB94 coverstock is amazing and matched up with the Strobe AI core, this ball " Leads the charge " and calculated domination! It reads the mid lane very well, and its awesome to see what it does after that. It looks amazing rolling down the lane and it sure takes charge! If your looking for the 1st ball out of your bag during league, or bowling on some sport shots, this ball will amaze you. I look forward to trying this ball on different lane conditions, moving a little deeper on the lanes and watching this ball perform, 900 Global is making a stand for sure!

Viking Conquest is the newest solid asym in the SPI lineup. I thought this ball might overlap with the Alpha Crux too much when it was first announced, but I have actually found that this ball separates itself in terms of shape. For me, Alpha Crux is pretty clean, pretty smooth, and a little forward down lane. While Viking Conquest is about the same strength, it seems to make a slightly more aggressive move off the spot, while also continuing through the pins a bit more. I would almost call this ball a baby Ion Max in terms of shape. It has the same midlane pick-up, same sweeping continuation through the 8-pin, but overall, I think Ion Max still has more hook potential. If I need a solid that feels a little cleaner, this ball is a great option. Especially for blending out over/under conditions or softening up my breakpoint on something flatter without feeling like I'm giving away any hits. The single density core allows me to keep my angles shallower, where with Ion Max I find myself having to get deeper and steeper to keep the ball on line. This a great and unique addition to our product line!
