900 Global Viking Conquest Bowling Ball

The Viking Conquest has been a really solid ball for me with the 4 × 4 × 2.5 layout. It gives me a strong read in the middle of the lane while still continuing well through the pins. When I need something smooth and predictable, this is a ball I can trust.

As a one-handed bowler with a 14.5 mph ball speed and a 350 rev rate, I'm always looking for equipment that can handle heavier oil without giving up continuation through the pins. Drilled 4x4x2, the Viking Conquest delivers exactly that with a strong midlane read, predictable motion, and impressive backend continuation. The 4x4x2 layout allows the ball to rev up quickly, creating a smooth, readable motion in the midlane while retaining enough energy to drive through the pocket. For my matched speed and rev rate, it starts up earlier than many symmetrical options but never feels sluggish or burns up too soon. What stands out most is how confidently the Viking Conquest handles fresh and heavier oil conditions. It blends the lane exceptionally well, providing plenty of traction without overreacting to friction. The motion is strong and continuous, making it easy to trust the reaction and make gradual adjustments as the lanes transition. Pin carry has been outstanding. The ball drives through the pins with authority, keeps the corners low, and turns marginal shots into strikes. Even slight misses into the oil recover well, giving me confidence to stay aggressive on tougher conditions. If you're a medium-speed, medium-rev bowler looking for a strong, reliable ball for medium-heavy to heavy oil, the Viking Conquest is an excellent choice. It offers the traction, control, and continuation needed to stay competitive from the first frame to the last.

The Viking Conquest is the newest addition to 900 Global. This asymmetrical ball features the returning Strobe AI Core (found from the original Viking), wrapped around the all-new RB 94 Solid Reactive Cover-stock. With a 2000 abralon finish, and a high flare potential rate, the Viking Conquest is 900 Global’s strongest hooking ball to date. I drilled this ball at 50 x 5 x 35. My first impression was, wow, this ball is strong! Be that it may, it still creates a smooth and controllable ball motion down lane. The Viking Conquest hooks earlier than the Alpha Crux but doesn’t flare as much in the back end with striking predictability. If I had to line up a comparison of solids I would go: Alpha Crux > Viking Conquest > Equinox Solid. The Viking Conquest would be a great 1-2 punch to complement the original Viking when contesting on heavy/fresh lane conditions and you need a big core ball to play straighter angles until the transition opens up, resulting in switching to a pearl/hybrid option. The new 900 series release is a solid powerhouse called the Viking Conquest. Fans of the strength and versatility that you saw with the original Viking will be glad to have a version you can go to on the freshest oil conditions. Utilizing the same Strobe AI core from the Viking this time they wrapped it in the strongest cover used on any 900 Global ball to date; the RB 94 Solid. I tested the Viking Conquest at my home center on a longer Kegel Pattern with plenty of volume so I Could really get an idea of what they did with the new cover. I noticed right away the ball was picking up the mid-lane very aggressively. Even with the added volume I saw shape before the end of the pattern and the ball was pretty forward off the back of the pattern. I expected to be forced left with the length of the pattern but I could belly the ball much more on the fresh than I had expected. I had more forgiveness on small misses right as a result so I was pretty happy with the ball motion. I think the Viking Conquest will look best for speed dominant/rev challenged players and on higher volume patterns. I couldn't expect this to be in play much longer than game one on your typical house pattern. The Viking Conquest is every bit as strong as my Alpha Crux A.I. The Conquest may read the lane a touch earlier, but the balls are very close it total boards. While I felt the original Viking went a little too long for me this is not the case with the Conquest. I was able to move far left (for me) and the ball never stopped. I am very happy with the motion, drive and carry I see from this ball. This ball will perform best in oil and on heavier sport or tournament patterns. I will put this ball above my Vengeance in total hook and at the top of my hook chart beside the Aloha Crux. I've been throwing the 900 Global Viking Conquest drilled 4 x 4 x 4, and it's been an excellent choice on heavier oil patterns. The layout gives me a strong, readable motion with an early midlane roll while still maintaining plenty of continuation through the pins. It never feels like it quits downlane, even on fresh, high-volume conditions. When I need traction and control without sacrificing hitting power, this is the first ball I reach for

The Viking Conquest is a lot smoother than what I was expecting and it rolls a little weaker to me than my Vengeance. It also seems to not be as over/under for me like the Viking was. I will be curious how this ball will be on some tougher conditions. 900 Global has definitely been making some really good equipment and has some shapes that the other brands might not have out. It really helps fill out most bowlers’ arsenals.

The Viking Conquest builds off the Viking name that was a favorite by many for its versatility across multiple patterns when some friction has developed. The Conquest is wrapped in RB94 solid which is 900 Globals strongest cover to date. The Conquest creates a lot of friction without sacrificing the ability to shape the lane. Diff.: 0.052 Finish: 2000-Grit Abralon 900 Global’s new Viking Conquest is a Solid Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1” from the palm, and 1.5” Left of the Mass Bias. 5 x 4 x 2 ½. I threw this piece on a Fresh 42’ house pattern. Out of Box ball motion started in the mids with a strong backend reaction through the pins. I had to play around 20-25 at the arrows to 8-10 downlane to stay right of the headpin. I compared this to the Viking. Viking was cleaner through the fronts with a sharper backend motion. If you are looking for a ball that hook in heavy oil piece this is it.
