I was so excited for this ball because of all the new technology and the idea behind it and when I first threw the Attention Star I absolutely hated it. Then I remembered that it had Reacta Gloss so I hit the ball with a 3000 pad and boy did my mind change. I was hoping that this was going to be a benchmark ball for me, but it is going to be my cliff beater ball. What I mean by that is that when the lanes get over under, I can grab the Attention Star and play the oil line out to the dry and crush it. I drilled this ball at my benchmark drilling of 5 X 5 X 2 but think I am going to get another one and drill it a little bit different to see if I can get this to be the first ball out of bag. I do like this ball but will be a cliff killer for me. Please see what Darrin and Chaise had to say about the Attention Star, their opinions are different than mine. Darrin Dohlman - Darrin really likes the Attention Star and was surprised on how strong and how much arch his has. He said that he likes how controllable the Attention Star is and that it feels like a stronger Zen. He and I agree that we aren't excited about the variety or the difference in each Attention Star is. Mine is pretty straight, his is really strong and Chaise is basically in between. Yes we all threw the ball a little different and drilled them up slightly different but not to get the range of differences of reaction on not only ours but others that have drilled up an Attention Star. Chaise Donner - "THIS IS GOING TO BE A STAPLE IN MY BAG!" This is what Chaise first said to me after throwing the Attention Star for a few weeks. He goes on to tell me that this is the first ball that he is pulling out during league because as the night goes by and the cliff builds, he can play the cliff with the Attention Star and that this ball gives him the best look during league. Chaise goes on to say that on a sport shot he likes the Attention Star during the transition and that he doesn't have to worry about this ball burning up and giving him false reads. Needless to say, Chaise is in love with this ball and he has been killing it in league with the Attention Star. Tak a look at the videos and see what you think. Roto Grip Attention Star Coverstock: Reacta Gloss eTrax™ Pearl Reactive Weight Block: Momentous™ AV + A.I. Core (Asymmetrical) Color: Berry/Silver/Iron Review: This is a ball that is getting a lot of air time on BowlTV on the PBA. It is a pearl that isn’t too clean to not be useful first of out bag but also doesn’t transition off the pattern too quickly. It is unique in ways of versatility. It can blend patterns well and not see too much but also not see too little if that makes sense. Our style: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 4x4x2 (pin is above bridge). This is one of those bowling balls that is going to be hard to get out of because it looks so good on so many patterns. On patterns with a lot of volume this would be your go to ball after starting the block with say a Harsh Reality or another big solid. It fits perfectly in between those big asymmetrical solids and a lower symmetrical ball such as zen gold label or HyRoad pearl. If you need a ball that fills that gap or are looking for a replacement asymmetrical pearl this is a great option for any style of bowler! AI asym pearl. It’s clean, midlanes, doesn’t jerk off the dry and continues like crazy! It’s a crazy unique shape and already one of my favorites. I expected to use it on transition or late in the day but honestly I like it with more surface and right out of the back for Game 1 to control the pattern. If there’s friction in the front of the pattern I could see opening up with the Attention Star then going to something quicker like an Exotic or Vebo. The Attention Star is a great versatile piece!

The new Roto Grip Attention Star bowling ball features Momentous™ Core and A.I. Core technology as well as eTrax™ PLUS Pearl coverstock. This bowling ball has been proving itself out in the field with wide variety of styles, including myself, really liking the ball motion that this Attention Star creates. I drilled my Attention Star with a pin-up layout that has a longer PIN to PAP distance: 65 x 5 1/2 x 30. I am very impressed with the ball motion that this bowling ball creates. I think this Attention Star is one the best bowling balls that has been released in recent years. It appears to me that the core of this bowling ball wants to start earlier, but the cleaner coverstock helps it get down the lane just enough. This combination, in my eyes, works very well and makes the bowling “read” the lane at the “right” time very frequently. Personally, I will always carry at least one Attention Star with me. I think this bowling ball is great for when the oil pattern develops a little bit of a “hook” spot and a bowler needs to open up the launch angle and use the “hook” spot. However, I do believe that this bowling ball will be very versatile and will work on a wide variety of patterns and layouts. The Attention Star, is for sure, a must have bowling ball in everyone’s arsenal! I will certainly drill a couple more of these. I set my attention star up for a high RG layout. Specifically maximizing it's length for short oil patterns. This ball delivered big time saving all its energy for the last possible moment before making a strong but controlled turn towards the pocket. I've also laid out several other attention stars for customers with more conventional layouts and this ball tends to be a great mix of power and control. Definitely look for this to be a ball 2/3 in your arsenal as the lanes begin to transistion.

The attention star is the most angular pearl we’ve see in a while. The momentous Core with the Weaker Etrax Pearl coverstock. Makes this ball want to get up and lane and retain so much energy to be really angular off the spot. It’s an asymmetrical where you can move left, send it right and the ball will come back!

Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 VLS After 8 international releases in the Attention line, the Momentous core finally makes it stateside in the Attention Star along with the AI.outer core. The Attention Star has the eTrax Plus Pearl the same cover that was on the RST X-2. With the pearl coverstock, as expected, it’s late and angular - extremely responsive downlane, great for early transition when you need to get a little more length out of the ball.
