    Absolutely confusing

Storm Absolute Power Layout 5 x 4 x 2.5 Style – stroker Ball Speed – 14–15 mph at pins Condition – house pattern - older HPL surface Surface – box condition After watching multiple styles throughout ball review videos, I had high hopes for the Absolute Power. My initial findings are just okay, not necessarily what I thought I’d see. The ball was even slower than I anticipated. It almost lopes off the breakpoint. My hope was that it would blend the ever present wet/dry wall on most house conditions. It was either way too early in the dry or nowhere near enough pop to get through the puddle. This ball reaction puts me in jail with my rev rate and ball speed. Too much to play out and not enough to move in and get it around the corner. Not sure how this one would fit for most bowlers in the “middle”. Higher rev rates and super straight, ball speed dominant, should find a good amount of use for this ball. The next thing will be to adjust the surface to see if it changes the reaction enough to make this a useable piece for me.

    Absolute Power Review

Storm Absolute Power: R2S Solid Cover Sentinel Core (Asymmetrical) 4000 Grit Sanded finish Layout 4 x 4 2” Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Speed at release 17 Review: I never really figured out the Original Absolute so I did not know what to expect from the Absolute Power. I can say for me this version is a lot better. The textured surface gives it a good mid lane read but saves torque for the back end. This ball almost acts like a polished or weaker asymmetric the way it goes down the lane and finishes. The Absolute Power is not as angular as some polished balls that have been produced lately but nay be more predictable at the 4000 finish. I would put this ball squarely between my Magic Gem and TNT in total hook. I have already had some nice sets with the Absolute Power and after a slow start at the shop this ball is gaining traction in sales. We are planning a Matchmaker Ball Demo soon and I hope this ball will be included in the set. I feel that bowlers who see dull Asymmetric balls as too early will be happy with the Absolute Power. Summary: The Absolute Power gives a unique motion for a sanded asymmetric. This ball is an upgrade on the original. The predictable back end motion is a plus. POWER-ful

Absolute Power Cover: R2S Deep Solid Reactive Core: Sentinel RG: 2.48 RG Diff: 0.050 Int Diff: 0.021 My layout: 5 x 4.5 x 2 The Absolute Power is a solid Asymmetrical ball that I see working best on medium to med-heavy conditions. The solid R2S Deep cover on the AP is medium strength, so it reads the front but not so much that it needs a ton of volume in the heads. The low rg, high int diff core compliments this cover well. Because of the medium length of the cover, the fast revving core translates to a medium to medium-quick response motion down lane which is not common in many solid asymmetrics. I have found that the AP is very versatile and is a great benchmark asymm for the fresh on most patterns. Bowler stats: Left handed PAP: 5 x 1/4up Rev rate: 400

    The Absolute Power

And like its predecessor, the original Absolute, the Absolute Power brings your game strength, precision, and predictability. But Storm didn’t stop there; instead, they added the new R2S DEEP Solid Reactive coverstock, making the Absolute Power a heavy oil monster that will fit into your arsenal. So, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Absolute Power such a success! I think The Sentinel Core was well designed for straighter players like me. The Sentinel Core is a strong asymmetric core; however, it was purposely designed to be balanced in its shape. And because of that balance, I found the Sentinel Core to be like having the better of two worlds. You get the striking power of a strong asymmetric that produces a rolling thunder of continuation. And you get a smooth symmetric-type mid-lane rev’ing motion with a responsive torque off the pattern. So, combined, they create an added edge for us straighter players that keep us in competition against those high-rev, high–power players we struggle against. The R2S Deep Coverstock, in my mind, is what makes the Absolute Power a ball that stands on its own success! The R2S Deep Solid has a textured depth to its pores, allowing my Absolute Power to cut cleanly through the front part of the lane without sacrificing the energy loss at the pins. And because the R2S Deep Solid doesn’t “roll at your toes,” straighter players will find that the R2S Deep Solid will provide a crisp, well-defined shape off the pattern with a more aggressive attack as it turns towards the pins. So, if you are a straighter player, the R2S Deep Coverstock is an excellent fit to roll on fresh THS conditions. So, in closing, the Absolute Power is a powerful new release by Storm. And straighter players will undoubtedly benefit from the excellent combination of Sentinel Core and R2S Deep Solid Coverstock! So, stop by your local Storm VIP Pro Shop today and get your Absolute Power ready to dominate those heavy and fresh oil conditions! The Absolute Power is well worth it! Great ball for league!

Posted by Garrett Richardson on Feb 17th 2024

The Storm Absolute Power 4.5x5x3 is a great starter ball on the fresh when you want control down lane. I absolutely love the Storm Absolute for that same reason and this doesn’t disappoint. With this one being a solid I can still play the dry with the deep R2S coverstock technology it allows me to stay with the ball longer and if I miss and hit the dry too early it doesn’t just make a right turn it actually slows down and rolls strong to the ball without leaving the back row (for the most part) During league it’s my main ball game 1-2 sometimes 3 and on fresh it rolls sooo good! The ball motion is smooth down lane but with a heavier roll compared to the Absolute. I can stand in the same spot which is usually around 23-24 board with both but move my eyes 3-4 boards left compared to the absolute to give it more room. I have noticed once the surface wears off and gets more of a shine the ball will blow past by the breakpoint so depending on your ball speed and ball roll you would wanna make sure the surface is touched up. I have been liking it at 2000 so before each night of league i will hit it with 2000 and goes through the oil with no problem. Such a great ball! The absolute series is one of the best for me in a long time. If you’re needing a ball for a fresh house shot that is a big block ball, this is the one! The Absolute Power’s Sentinel Core is wrapped with the RS2 Deep solid cover. This will ensure the Absolute Power will change direction and continue through the pins with more power and consistently. The Absolute Power has a stronger mid lane read and more continuous motion through the pins than the original Absolute. This ball will be great on medium to heavy oil patterns. Absolutley Better

Posted by Todd Pawlak on Feb 11th 2024

For those who have or had the original Absolute, this ball will amaze you. I was in shock. Compared to the original ball, this one moves. The original one, to me, on most of the bowling alleys I was at, it never really had much back end. It was a hybrid . This new Absolute Power...It has back end for a solid ball. The R2S Deep Solid Coverstock. Wow is all I have to say, It's a ball I love to have in my bag. It reads the mid lane, and for a solid ball, you will be amazed. I was happy to purchase this ball, and happy to throw it. I was happy with the 4000 surface out of the box. I never had to adjust anything on it. It look great, Reacts great, and Absolutely love the colors and smell it has! It's a ball to get!

    Power is Absolute.

Posted by Sam Cooper on Feb 6th 2024

Sam Cooper Roto Grip Amateur Staff. The Storm Absolute Power I was excited for when it was announced. I immediately thought to myself that this might be the new Rubicon! So far, this ball has not disappointed. I drilled this pin down layout numbers are 45x5x75(might need a pin up one in the future by how good the current one is!). The Absolute Power features the R2S Deep Solid Cover wrapped around the Sentinel core. I liked the original Absolute for league or lighter volume sport shots. The Power should be even more versatile. Me being higher speed higher rev rate. The out of box surface was tricky for me at 4000 abralon. Liked the motion that the ball made but it would not always recover or go through the pins correctly. I hit it with a 2000 pad to have some teeth and the ball came alive. R2S Deep solid is still cleaner and more responsive than other solid covers in the SPI family. You can tell when throwing either Absolute that the ball does not pay much attention to the front part of the lane. That being said, the ball retains a good amount of energy for the pins. It creates a strong arcing motion that will be usable for a variety of conditions. Personally, I think that this is a ball that has been missing from the line since the Rubicon. With the older surfaces in my hometown of Pittsburgh we need more options with cleaner/weaker covers.

    Absolute Power

Posted by BRIAN HIRSCH on Feb 1st 2024

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Storm Absolute Power. In 14 pounds this ball is wrapped in the R2S Deep Solid Coverstock and has the Sentinel Core with an RG of 2.54, Diff of .045 and PSA of .018.. The layout for this ball is 5x4x2.5 The perfect name for the perfect ball. It is not the strongest ball in any of the three SPI lines but I feel its the perfect amount of ball for game 1 and 2 on a true house shot. I used this ball the other night and from the first shot down the lane I knew this was a staple in the bag for some time. I was able to move where I am more comfortable and started sliding at 25 and by the end of game 2 I was sliding at 30ish and knew I needed a cleaner ball. My Summit Peak wasn't ready yet so I jumped into a Clone and moved my feet a few right to close my angle a bit and just had to give that ball just a touch of hand and was back to striking. If you have been watching the PBA the past two weeks you saw this ball at some point being thrown by all of SPI staff members. When a ball is this good all the pros are drawn to throw it as well. Absolute Power

Posted by Roto Grip Rick on Jan 31st 2024

Storm Absolute Power: Ball specs: Sentinel Core with R2S Deep SOLID reactive coverstock Finished: 4000 grit Abralon Layout: 5 x 4 x 2 Bowler specs: 15.5 mph and rev rate in the 380’s and my is PAP is 3 ¼ and at zero up/down Fun Fact of the day: The Sentinel Core is the first single density asymmetrical core that the Storm line has used since the Storm Lucid a few years ago. With me not using a TON of asymmetrical balls in league, I figured to practice on fresh and used house conditions over the course of a few different days to really see if this new Absolute Power would perform. I was very impressed to see how much torque this ball delivered during the shots. The textured R2S Deep solid cover adds a little length midlane and backend of the ball motion over the OG R2S solid coverstock. The OG Absolute was a little “too clean” for me at factory finish, but did gain some love from me at 2000 grit finish. I did not shy away from trying to “hook” the lane or doing deep inside the heavier part of the lane pattern, where normal solids would give up on me, the Absolute Power energized me!
