Storm Absolute Power Bowling Ball

Absolute Power is very strong asym solid that is not traditional. It’s not a forward piece. It’s a very continuous piece that wants to pick up in the midlane but continue really strong off the spot. It also takes to surface adjustments really well. So whether you want to play straighter or get in and create some angle this is the ball for you.

Not to mention, the Blueberry Orange Cake fragrance adds a nice touch to a sweet release. The OOB 4000 grit finish gives a great baseline reaction for medium volume patterns. I’ve found a lot of success taking the finish down to 1000 or 2000 for the fresh. The cover takes to lane shine well and allows the ball to maintain it’s down lane punch later in the blocks. You’ll find that this ball is a great step up from the Virtual Energy Blackout or a step down from the Harsh Reality. You are going to love this ball!

Layout: 5 x 4 x 3 1/2 VLS It’s early on in the year, but the Absolute Power will be a strong contender for ball of the year for 2024. The Absolute Power features the R2S Deep coverstock, this time in a solid version to complement the original Absolute’s R2S Deep Pearl. The Solid version comes out of the box at 4000 grit Abralon and it seems like a perfect match for the ball. The higher grit finish helps the ball read the heads without digging in too early. This really helps the ball retain a smooth shape and a consistent reaction downlane without being jumpy at all. The Absolute Power by Storm is the latest addition to the Premier line and, in my opinion, is a home run. The engine is the Sentinel Core and it’s wrapped with the R2S Deep Solid coverstock. I really liked the original Absolute and had a ton of success with it, so I was very excited to see a solid version be created. I think the comparison between the two is pretty simple. The Power provides players with a solid coverstock compared to the original Absolute, so this one reads the lane earlier, but it continues to change direction nicely like the original. I’ve drilled one so far and love it. It’s mapped out as 5 ¾ x 4 ¾ x 3. This puts the pin above my middle finger and the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. I’ve been able to use the Power on the fresh while keeping my angles tight as well as when lanes transition and steeper angles are needed. I’ve noticed a ton of versatility and it’s been very usable on several different patterns. From a surface standpoint, I’ve left it out of the box. Naturally, oil will shine equipment and that’s happened here, but I haven’t needed to adjust it at all. This is a ball I could see drilling a few of because of how versatile it can be. If you need a ball that has proven to be successful on multiple types of patterns and on multiple surfaces, I think you should consider drilling the Absolute Power from Storm! #StormNation

The Storm Absolute Power features the same Sentinel core found in the original Absolute, however the Power features the R2S Deep solid reactive coverstock. At 15 pounds the A.P. has a low rg of 2.48, with a differential of .050 and an intermediate diff of .021. I drilled mine the same as drill most of my equipment at 5x4x2. I’m not sure why, maybe it is the 4000-grit finish, but I expected this ball to hook sooner and much more than it does. This, however, is not a bad finding. The A.P. is surprisingly clean through the front part of the lane, picks up traction in the midlane and has a slower response to friction creating an even, arcing backend motion. When compared to the Absolute, the Power is about three to five feet sooner and about three boards more of overall hook. This ball reacts more like a symmetrical benchmark ball than a bigger asymmetrical ball. This ball will be best for medium conditions and for bowlers with higher ball speeds that want to play closer to the dry and for bowlers with slower ball speeds that are looking for a ball that won’t react quite as strong as some of the other solid asymmetrical balls.

I was a huge fan of the original absolute, so when I saw this ball coming out, I was extremely excited. Well, after throwing it, the excitement is still there. While this ball is an asymmetrical, it had taken the spot of my benchmark ball. So what does that mean for you? It means "Absolute" versatility. The ball is also noted as power, which fits. The coverstock isn't as early as what one may thing, but still provides a smooth track to the pocket. Give this ball a shot!

The Storm Absolute Power is the newest addition to the Premier Line. This bowling ball features the Sentinel core and the well-known R2S Deep Solid coverstock. I really like what I see out of this Absolute Power. I do think it creates a nice, benchmark-like ball reaction. Since this core can potentially flare quite a bit, I decided to drill my Absolute Power with a pin-down layout: 55 x 5 x 75. I see this bowling ball to be versatile as the core seems to create an earlier and smoother roll, while the coverstock isn’t overly aggressive and stays on-line quite easy. This core and coverstock combination seem to allow for this bowling ball to respond to any release adjustments very nicely. I managed to stay with this ball through a couple of pattern transitions. This Absolute Power has worked in multiple scenarios for me so far. I do think this ball will work best on fresh, medium patterns. It takes surface adjustments well, which makes this ball very useful on different types of lane surfaces. I also think this Absolute Power could be a very good first ball out of the bag on a lot of house patterns. I have always been a fan of the Asymmetrical balls with big cores but weak covers. This one falls right into that spot! The clean, solid cover of R2S deep is pretty clean out of the box (4000) and makes a defined movement down lane. I actually thought that with my standard, 5x4x2 layout, the cover was a little too clean. I hit mine, lightly, with a 1000 pad and WHOA…Ball became a Monster! This ball also lets me continue to chase it left as the lanes break down. I am pretty conscious with my Asyms. on when I need to get out of them. We have wood lanes at my center and I have used this ball for all 3 games, multiple times, on 5 man leagues and 3 man leagues as well! This ball packs a serious punch and is quite versatile! Absolute Power Coverstock: R2S DEEP Solid Reactive Finish: 4000 Grit Abralon Core: Sentinel Fragrance: Blueberry, Orange, Cake, Review: I was a big fan of the original Absolute and when I saw the solid version was coming on I knew I would have to get it in my bag. Comparing this ball to some of my other big Asymmetric solids I found this ball to be significantly weaker than my Reality. But that is what I was looking for. This ball is very smooth rolling and allows me to stay with it longer than my reality. I find this ball similar to a benchmark ball for me. Allowing me to gage the lanes and put myself in the best position. This ball is going to be great first out of the bag during tournament play and a solid league ball for those lower rev players. Storm Absolute Power Layout 5 x 4 x 2.5 Style – stroker Ball Speed – 14–15 mph at pins Condition – house pattern - older HPL surface Surface – box condition After watching multiple styles throughout ball review videos, I had high hopes for the Absolute Power. My initial findings are just okay, not necessarily what I thought I’d see. The ball was even slower than I anticipated. It almost lopes off the breakpoint. My hope was that it would blend the ever present wet/dry wall on most house conditions. It was either way too early in the dry or nowhere near enough pop to get through the puddle. This ball reaction puts me in jail with my rev rate and ball speed. Too much to play out and not enough to move in and get it around the corner. Not sure how this one would fit for most bowlers in the “middle”. Higher rev rates and super straight, ball speed dominant, should find a good amount of use for this ball. The next thing will be to adjust the surface to see if it changes the reaction enough to make this a useable piece for me.
