Additional product information:

The Rocket A.I. continues the aggressive expansion of the Thunder line by adding a release that creates later ball motion to dominate medium-dry conditons. Powering this release is the Booster A.I. Core, which retains the same inner weight block shape used in previous Rocket models. The outer core, however, has been enhanced with A.I. Technology. This dynamic addition not only increases carry percentage on off-hits, but also lowers the RG and raises the differential, allowing the Rocket A.I. to better match up with today’s lane patterns. To further support performance on today’s more demanding oil conditions, the Rocket A.I. is wrapped in our A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock which is engineered for exceptional tackiness. Jason Belmonte says, “This core/cover combo delivers a quick response on the backend when you need to create larger angles and still have your ball continue through the pins.”

    The Rocket A.I.

Posted by Rick Klimowicz on May 6th 2026

Rocket A.I. • Storm • Thunder Series Coverstock • A1S Pearl Reactive • Finish Power Edge Core • Booster A.I. Core Weight • 15 lbs. RG • 2.53 Differential • .048 Layout • 4 ½ x 5 x 1 7/8 Tester PAP • 5” R, 5/8” D Tester Axis Tilt • 9° Testers Rev Rate • 300 Test Pattern • 42’ THS (Typical House Shot) • Modified, Kegel Stone Street The Rocket A.I. is a unique combination of Storm’s responsive A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock and proven Booster Core, enhanced with Storm’s cutting-edge A.I. technology. This combination makes the Rocket A.I. a brilliant new release in Storm’s Thunder line. But does this new Rocket A.I. belong in straighter players’ arsenal? I believe it certainly does, so let’s take a closer look at the Rocket A.I. and where it might fit in your arsenal. The Booster Core, before A.I. technology, delivered a smooth mid-lane motion and a strong, predictable turn off the pattern. Although not too flashy in design, it was loved by many bowlers for the reliable motion it delivered. Fast-forward to today, and with A.I. Core technology wrapped around the Booster Core, you have the Booster A.I. Core, which is simply the next generation in power, predictability, and reliability. Straighter players like me will love how the Booster A.I. Core maintains a strong mid-lane motion that doesn’t burn up by the exit of the pattern. In fact, straighter players will appreciate how the Booster A.I. Core stores a good amount of energy that explodes through the pins. I found the A.I. technology added the extra power I need to carry, and with that added continuation, I could count on the Rocker A.I. to kick out those dreaded single-pin leaves that can ruin the night. So, all in all, the Booster A.I. Core makes the Rocker A.I. a ball to seriously consider for your arsenal. The A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock on the Rocket A.I. was designed for medium-to-dry lane conditions, and that is exactly where it delivers. As a straighter, low-rev player, I found the Rocket A.I. fared very well in late-night conditions. The A1S Pearl offers silky, gripping traction, allowing the Rocket A.I. to get down the lane without being overly sensitive to the wet/dry conditions we straighter players see before most. I found the factory Power Edge finish was suitable for most conditions; however, for my straighter style, a light surface tweak to 3000-grit Abralon gave my Rocket A.I. that crisp, decisive motion off the pattern I can depend on. With that light surface tweak, the Rocket A.I. gave me the forgiveness and flexibility I need to keep me striking and in the hunt in those toasty, broken-down lane conditions we straighter players tend to see late at night. So, I would say that with the right surface tweak to fit your style of play, the A1S will provide results you can count on. In conclusion, the Rocket A.I. is a refreshing new addition to Storm’s Thunder Line. The combination of Booster A.I. Core and A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock makes the Rocket A.I. a great choice for straighter players seeking a late-night Pearl Reactive ball to add to their arsenal. As a straighter player, you can depend on the Rocket A.I. to deliver the right amount of traction and power to keep you striking in those work and broken-down THS conditions. Bang for the Buck Belmo Ball

Posted by Zachary Marlow on May 5th 2026

SPECS: 2HL, Rev Rate: 450, Speed: 17.5-18.0, Tilt: 0 - 8 degrees. Axis Rotation: 30-50 degrees. Layout: 4.75 x 3 7/8 2LS / 60 x 4.75 x 45. My goal was to have a ball that could dig through the oil when I needed to move way inside - especially on more of the 'challenge' type patterns - and this ball easily fit that bill. When the Phaze II Pearl can't get around the corner and a HyRoad cannot get through the pins (and the Hustles are just too weak), I am able to move a couple inside, open up my angles, and know that the ball will see the hook window in the right part of the lane with enough angle going through the pins. The cover complements the very clean core so that it always easily clears the front of the lane but doesn't miss the spot either when there is carry down created by the right handers or when there is a good bit of oil across the middle of the lane.

    Rocket AI

Posted by Thomas Coco on May 5th 2026

The Rocket AI is Storm’s newest addition to the Thunder Line. It is featured with the Booster AI Core, along with the A1S Pearl Reactive Cover Stock, and finished with power edge technology. With its medium-high flare potential and a lower RG, the Rocket AI is designed to create a clean, late read ball motion when contesting on medium-dry lane conditions. The color design and the frosted berry fragrance is spot on! Ball layout: 50 x 5 x 35. Test pattern: 42ft league pattern. Out of the box, it didn’t seem clear that I would get proper ball motion with this ball as it struggles to attack the oil, leaving light pin carry and corners galore. Once I was able to open the transition and have more friction to play with, this is where the Rocket AI comes to play. This ball is super clean. No room for error as I didn’t have to adjust my targets right to left playing the friction repeatedly. I could stand 30 with my feet and play across 15-20 at the arrows the entire time without having to adjust. The Rocket AI is so smooth, responsive, and dependable. Truth be told, I only used it twice so far and put up a score of 835 (268 268 299) in one of my leagues. I find this ball to be a great transitional option to add to your arsenal. This ball will likely be in my bag at times during league play and tournament play contested on medium lane conditions. If you are looking to add an up-to-date transitional ball, the Rocket AI is the choice for you!! Head out to your local Storm VIP Pro Shop and drill one up today!!

    Rocket AI

Posted by BRIAN HIRSCH on Apr 28th 2026

TESTING ENVIRONMENT Type: Lakes Bowl House Shot (After League) BALL: Storm Rocket AI Coverstock: A1S Pearl Reactive Core: Booster A.I. Core Finish: Power Edge RG: 2.54 (14 lb) Differential: 0.050 (14 lb) MB/PSA: NA (14 lb) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 14–15 mph Rev Rate: 220 PAP: 6 3/16 → ¾ Up Layout: 60x5x20 I wanted to see what this ball could really do. Before drilling it, I knew it featured the classic Rocket weight block paired with the new coverstock and A.I. core technology. My first thought was that this would be the perfect ball once the lanes started to transition. So what better place to test it than on a burned-up house shot? I started by standing on 15 and keeping the ball in front of me, targeting 11–13 at the arrows. Right away, the ball checked all the boxes by being clean through the fronts and easy length, but once it saw friction, this ball hooked. Then I moved left to around 21–22 with my feet and targeted 14–16 at the arrows. That’s where the Rocket A.I. really stood out. The combination of getting through the heads clean while still using the hold in the middle made this ball look excellent. It created a strong move downlane in a spot where other balls, especially bigger, stronger pieces would either overhook or roll out. Overall, this looks like a fantastic option when the lanes break down and you need something clean, responsive, and dependable. Thanks for reading and watching!
