Additional product information:

The Rocket A.I. continues the aggressive expansion of the Thunder line by adding a release that creates later ball motion to dominate medium-dry conditons. Powering this release is the Booster A.I. Core, which retains the same inner weight block shape used in previous Rocket models. The outer core, however, has been enhanced with A.I. Technology. This dynamic addition not only increases carry percentage on off-hits, but also lowers the RG and raises the differential, allowing the Rocket A.I. to better match up with today’s lane patterns. To further support performance on today’s more demanding oil conditions, the Rocket A.I. is wrapped in our A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock which is engineered for exceptional tackiness. Jason Belmonte says, “This core/cover combo delivers a quick response on the backend when you need to create larger angles and still have your ball continue through the pins.”

    Rocket A.I.

Posted by Darren Wong on May 25th 2026

The newest Belmo collaboration from Storm is the Rocket AI which is a remake of the original Rocket that was released in 2015. The new Rocket A.I. has been added to the Thunder Line which places it at lower price point than the previous Belmo collaborations. I never threw the original Rocket which had R2S on the cover and the Booster core. The new Rocket A.I. features the same symmetrical Booster core, but Storm added Amplified Inertia (A.I.) to it which lowers the RG slightly from the original Rocket. For the 15 pounder, the RG is 2.53 and differential is 0.048. The new Rocket A.I. has the A1S Pearl reactive coverstock which is the same cover as the Equinox and the Hyroad 40, so it’s supposed to be a pretty clean and angular cover. This ball is meant for later in the block as the fronts burn up and you need something to push through the front. I drilled mine 4.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 to make it pretty responsive. I threw it on house pattern for league and was surprised that it didn't over skid on higher volume and didn't bounce as hard off the dry. I then threw it on the 2026 46' PBA Regional pattern and was again surprised that it did read the lane (as long as I kept my speed slow). The cover definitely floats through the front part of the lane, but the AI core helps it read the midlane while still providing strong down lane motion. It's not crazy angular (i.e. hockey stick shape), but it's definitely "swoopy" on the back end. So I feel like this is a pretty versatile piece that will fit at the bottom of your middle bag of your arsenal. When the fronts start to burn up and you need something to get through the front and not be over responsive/bouncy, Rocket A.I. would be a good choice. I'd say it's similar shape as IQ AI, just more overall hook.

    Rocket AI is Awesome!

Posted by Sandy McIntire on May 24th 2026

Introducing the Storm Rocket AI built to dominate medium oil volume conditions. The A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock creates sharp backend motion on medium oil. Where the Monsoon reads the midlane with its solid cover, the Rocket A.I. pushes longer and snaps harder at the breakpoint. It has a Radius Weight Block — with a 2.53 RG and 0.048 differential at 15 lbs. I am speed dominant, average rev rate 250-275ish, low-medium tilt and medium rotation. I drilled mine 35x4.5x30. My axis point is 4 3/8 over 1 3/8 up. This ball is good for me in later game blocks when I need something clean and strong!Go get yours at your local Storm VIP shop today! #StormNation #sm2proshop #Deviousbowling

    Blast Off

The Rocket was one of my all-time favorite balls (including the scent) as when I first started using Storm Products. I tended to stick to the lower lines, so the Rocket AI was a no brainer. The ball has the same RG value as the Monsoon but the diff is a touch higher and you can definitely see it in the ball motion. I have only been able to use this ball a couple times but I know it will come in handy in some upcoming tournaments where the lanes tend to transition very quickly and as Belmo mentioned “get a little toasty”.

    Rocket AI

My Storm Rocket AI with the 4 x 5 x 5 2LS layout has been a great transition ball for me. It gives me the length I want, a smooth read through the middle, and a strong but controllable backend. It’s one of those pieces I can rely on when things get tricky, and I don’t want to guess what the ball is going to do. For me, it's a go-to option when I need clean length and a confident move down lane without overreaction.

    Rocket AI

Posted by Anthony Wiegand on May 20th 2026

If you were a fan of the original rocket, then you need to get your hands on this brand new Rocket AI. The booster core is back and it is wrapped in A1S pearl coverstock, which gives this ball the length and pop off the spot that you have been looking for since 2015. This will be a staple in the bag when the lanes start to transition and you cant get a ball through the front part of the lanes. Get down to your local pro shop and pick this ball up, you wont be disappointed.

    Rocket A.I.

Posted by Chase Valenzuela on May 19th 2026

Rocket A.I. is a much-needed addition to the SPI lineup! This piece provides a significantly longer/cleaner option to balls like the Phaze 2 Pearl and RockStar Amped, and at a great price point! This reintroduction of a Storm classic really fills out my bag for league on those blended house shots and gives me an option for late in the block on tougher/flatter conditions as well. This one is straightforward, classic Storm bowling--clean and angular with a nice long window of usability on medium oil and even as the lanes dry out. -Chase Valenzuela

    Rocket AI Review

Posted by Adam Chase on May 19th 2026

Layout: 4 x 4 x 2 1/2 Surface: Power Edge Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The Rocket AI is the newest ball in the Thunder Line. The Booster Core was brought back from the original Rocket series but enhanced with AI technology and paired with the A1S Pearl coverstock found on the Equinox Pearl. This combination gives easy length and a fairly angular backend motion. Designed for medium oil conditions, this will be a great step-down ball when the lanes start to hook and opening up the lane is desired. There is a higher RG value and differential which will put it a step above the Typhoon in terms of overall hook potential. This combination fills a gap that has been missing in the Storm lineup for some time. The Rocket AI is designed for transition and there would be better fresh options to buy such as the Monsoon. Similar core numbers with a solid coverstock makes it more ideal. For me, the Rocket AI is actually a great step down from the monsoon. When I have to move further left with my feet to create a cleaner and more angular reaction, this is my go-to ball. When the volume is a little lower and I want a ball to get through the fronts easier, this is my go-to ball. I recommend this ball to anyone looking for a transition ball off a symmetrical solid piece. It is likely too weak to ball down off of an Asymmetrical solid. This ball again would be ideal for transition or late games in a longer block especially when asymmetrical pearls are too strong.

    Rocket AI!

Posted by Joshua L. Shoemaker on May 19th 2026

The Rocket AI is SPI’s newest addition to the thunder line. The Rocket AI features the same Booster core found in the OG but is now wrapped in the AI outer core and finished with A1S pearl. This provides a clean but stable reaction that is going to be perfect for blending out higher friction lane surfaces. The Rocket AI is the perfect 1-2 league punch with the Monsoon. The Rocket AI is now available for purchase from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! Review Video: https://youtu.be/2nut3KekGeg?si=mu8jmJhidWvl7YUw

    Rocket A.I.

Posted by Devon Radford on May 18th 2026

I decided to go with a pin down layout of 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 5/8 (55 x 4 1/2 x 60 using the dual angle layout). It has the same Booster Core from the Rocket series with A.I. technology and has the A1S coverstock from the Equinox. I loved the original Rocket from some years ago, and so glad Storm brought it back to their Thunder line. Gives me great controlled length and a defined backend motion, and the Booster core + A.I. technology makes the pins dance all over the place! I’m able to keep my angles more in front of me, and I can trust the ball motion relative to my release. It’s great for the transition, but once the Rocket A.I. sees friction, it will definitely go! This ball will be good for games two and three in league or in a later block. Once you find the blend of oil to friction, this ball will not disappoint! Go and get yours!

    Rocket AI review

Posted by Glenn on May 17th 2026

Ball Specs: Storm Rocket AI A1S Pearl Cover Power Edge Polished Booster AI Core (Symmetric) Layout 4.5 x 4 with 2” Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: I got more ball than I expected in the new Rocket AI. The hook and hit are much better than I imagined they would be. This ball is not really being pushed as a Belmo Series ball, and the combined logo engraving gets you around the college limit of logo rules which I think is silly. I guess rules are rules. This ball is versatile and should fit most types of bowlers regardless of their style. I have been using this ball in my league and a local tournament and normally can stay with it three games or more and adjustments are very easy to make as the pattern breaks down. I have really been impressed with how the Rocket AI hits and carries. I believe this is because of how it stores energy for the back part of the lane. The Rocket AI has a nice angular motion even when moving deeper inside. I would call the Rocket AI a medium ball with excellent back-end movement. The Rocket AI fits under my Ion Max Pearl but above my Typhoon in total hook. I recommend this ball to anyone who wants a medium / medium plus benchmark ball with a strong back end. I don’t think you can go wrong with a Rocket AI in your bag especially at its value price point. Summary: The Rocket AI is an excellent ball for all types of styles. The way the Rocket AI moves on the back provides hard hit and excellent carry. This ball is a must have at the price point giving a lot of performance for the dollar.
