Additional product information:
The Rocket A.I. continues the aggressive expansion of the Thunder line by adding a release that creates later ball motion to dominate medium-dry conditons. Powering this release is the Booster A.I. Core, which retains the same inner weight block shape used in previous Rocket models. The outer core, however, has been enhanced with A.I. Technology. This dynamic addition not only increases carry percentage on off-hits, but also lowers the RG and raises the differential, allowing the Rocket A.I. to better match up with today’s lane patterns. To further support performance on today’s more demanding oil conditions, the Rocket A.I. is wrapped in our A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock which is engineered for exceptional tackiness. Jason Belmonte says, “This core/cover combo delivers a quick response on the backend when you need to create larger angles and still have your ball continue through the pins.”

Best option for dry lanes!
The Storm Rocket AI has quickly become one of my favorite balls to throw because of how clean and explosive it feels downlane. For me, it gets through the front part of the lane effortlessly without burning up too early, then makes a strong but controllable move once it sees friction. I’ve noticed it really shines when the lanes start to transition because I can trust it to keep energy and still drive through the pins hard. The carry has been impressive too — even slight misses seem to recover well and keep the corners low. Overall, I feel like the Rocket AI gives me the perfect mix of length, backend reaction, and consistency, which makes it a ball I can confidently keep in my bag for league and tournament play.

Controllable Angles
A1S Pearl Reactive, Booster A.I. Core, Power Edge, 15 lbs - RG 2.53, Diff .048 Right Hand - 15.5 mph down lane, 335 +/-, PAP 4.75, 1/2 up, Layout 4x4.5x1.75 I was not familiar with the 2015 Rocket so this was a new ball to me. The first time I rolled this ball was on a typical house shot with 3 other bowlers on pair. On the fresh it was clean through the fronts but there was not enough on the backend to make the turn. Where the Rocket AI began to shine was during the transition and when the lanes started to get crispy. The ball was clean through the fronts and the motion down lane became angular but controllable with the A1S Pearl Coverstock backed with Power Edge polish. Where the stronger balls over hooked or rolled out, the Rocket AI’s readable motion created more confidence for me to move right and to continue to make that move. I feel the Rocket AI is a piece that can keep you ahead of the transition and it will continue to be the ball to get you down the lane and create that desired angular motion when it becomes toasty. Storm Rocket AI Ball Review Storm Rocket AI features the Booster AI core wrapped with the A1S Pearl Coverstock. The A1S coverstock was used in the Equinox Pearl and Hy-Road 40. The Booster Core was orginally in the Rocket series balls. The Rocket AI will be agreat option on medium lane conditions when you need length and a strong backend motion RG-2.53 Diff-.048 Core-Symmetrical Finish-Poweredge Polish Layout VLS-5.5x3x1.25 The Rocket AI will be a great compliment to my Phaze II Pearl when i need more length and more backend. Rocket AI will be stronger than Hy-Road and Typhoon series balls. The Storm Monsoon will be earlier than the Rocket AI with a smooth controlled backend

Rocket Ai
The Storm Rocket A.I. has been a great fit for my arsenal with the 2LS 5 × 4 × 2.5 layout. The layout gives the ball easy length through the fronts while still creating a strong, clean move off the friction without feeling uncontrollable. What stands out most is how well it blends transition and keeps striking when the lanes start to dry up. For me, it’s the perfect Game 3 option that still has enough continuation and hit to carry from deeper angles.

Storm Rocket AI
STORM ROCKET A.I. Ball Specs: Booster AI core with A1S reactive pearl coverstock, Storm PowerEdge factory finish compound and a very enticing Frosted Berry fragrance. The Rocket A.I. builds on a name bowlers have trusted since 2015, when the original Rocket became a go-to in the Thunder line for its easy length and strong downlane motion. This version is dialed in for today’s medium to dry lane conditions, offering stability through the front of the lane and a defined, responsive backend motion. My Specs: Speed: (13-15 mph), Approx Rev Rt: (280-320), PAP: 4.5 right x ½ up, Tilt: 4° the layout I went with for the Rocket AI is 4.5x5x2. Tested on Pro-lane surface with a fresh 43 ft medium volume house shot and on SPL 42 ft medium volume house shot after a senior league had rolled on them, so just a little burn with somewhat spotty down lane issues due to plastic ball carrydown. Sidenote about me to start off with, I am currently bowling with fully torn supraspinatus tendon which has severely decreased my ball speed with 15-pound balls. I am currently building a solid 14# arsenal and looking for that step down ball to go to once the lanes get a little crispy, and the Rocket AI right is THE solution. BUT do NOT let that fool you, this ball will also hold its own in game one on medium oil patterns just fine as well. I first rolled this right off the press on Pro-lanes with a fresh 43-foot house shot and was able to play down and in at 5, and sometimes further out when I missed, and this ball rolled in very nicely ripping all 10 back without issues. After rolling on the same lane for about an hour or so and throwing some more aggressive pieces (Gremlin Tour X & Transformer) down the same lines, I was able to bump left and roll the Rocket out 15 to 5 right before the far-right tracer and again the Rocket AI did not disappoint. It was able to bounce off the friction and make a nice turn into the pocket right through the 8-9 gap. My benchmark layout is 4x4x2 of which I have other balls at this layout that are also symmetrical pearls (Phaze 2 Pearl) so I went with just a touch longer layout to get the ball further downlane before making the turn. Comparing the two balls, the Phaze 2 Pearl is much stronger and more aggressive layout, so when the pattern dictates that I start with a pearl, again the Rocket AI is a great step down from the P2P when the lanes start to break down. With tournament season now in full swing, I cannot wait to get this ball out on the lanes and really put it to the test. Be sure to visit your local Storm VIP Pro-Shop and pick one up today, you will not be disappointed. #stormnation #3GShoes

The booster core from the original Rocket is back with the AI around it. The teamed this up with the A1S Pearl cover that was featured on the Equinox. The result is a bit of an upgrade cover-wise which translates into a little more mid-lane read. The Rocket AI sits about where you would expect a master line ball to be in the line-up. It makes a great step down from the bigger balls when you need to ball to clear the front a little easier. In contrast to most of the Hy-Road derived balls however, the rocket definitely picks its roll up sooner. The RG is slightly lower compared to those balls. The combo definitely shows up in the mid-lane. I tested the Rocket AI on the house pattern of my home center. There's been an abundance of early friction lately so it probably skewed my read slightly. The first thing I noticed was that the Rocket AI picked up much sooner than I expected. Watching the motion it quickly became apparent that this was due more to the lane than the ball as the ball really tipped up quickly. I found I had to either get left right away and keep the break-point further left or I had to actually loft the ball slightly to get it over the front panel. If I added the slight loft I had an amazing look getting the ball right. I expect this to be closer to the look you would expect on a more conventional lane condition or for someone with more ball speed than I have. I think the Rocket AI will be pretty popular. Its the lowest line that has seen Belmo collaboration ball and it should find its way into a lot of bags this tournament season. Rocket AI
As a one-handed bowler with a 14.5 mph ball speed and a 350 rev rate, I’m always searching for a ball that creates enough downlane motion to open the lane up without becoming unpredictable on high-friction back ends. Drilled 4x4x2, the Storm Rocket AI gives me the ideal combination of clean length, defined backend motion, and continuous drive through the pins on a 42-foot light-to-medium volume house shot. The 4x4x2 layout really wakes this ball up for my style. The pin-to-PAP distance helps the core rev efficiently in the midlane, while the shorter pin buffer sharpens the backend response just enough to create angle without sacrificing readability. For my matched speed and rev rate, that translates into a motion that clears the fronts effortlessly and responds strongly once it encounters friction. What impressed me immediately was how well the Rocket AI stores energy. On house shots with friction to the outside and developed backend hook, many stronger asymmetrical pieces can over-read early or lose continuation. The Rocket AI drilled 4x4x2 gets through the front part of the lane cleanly and makes a fast, confident move off the breakpoint while continuing through the deck instead of rolling forward too soon. Technically, this layout helps create a sharper transition at the breakpoint while still maintaining enough control for league conditions. The reaction shape is angular, but not uncontrollable. I can stay straighter early in competition, then gradually move left and create steeper entry angles as transition develops. The ball keeps recovering without quitting, which is critical for medium-speed bowlers who rely on proper entry angle and continuation for carry. The pin carry has been outstanding. Mixers become strikes, weak corners disappear, and the ball drives through the 8-pin area with authority. On higher-friction back ends, the response is quick enough to create miss-room right while still stable enough not to over-jump off dry boards. If you’re a medium-speed, medium-rev one-handed player looking for a ball that offers easy length, strong angular backend motion, and excellent continuation on typical house conditions, the Storm Rocket AI drilled 4x4x2 is a serious league weapon. It’s the kind of reaction that helps create modern entry angle with the control needed to trust it frame after frame.

Rocket AI Review by Kyle, Joel, & Dean Johnson
Rocket AI Coverstock: A1S™ Pearl Reactive - Powder Edge Weight Block: Booster™ + AI Core (Symmetrical) Color: Chrome/Wine Fragrance: Frosted Berry Review: Bowlers across all skill levels can appreciate the Thunder Line so we are glad to see that they are adding an additional piece. The Rocket line from a few years ago is making a comeback and we are here for it. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 5x4x2 (pin is above bridge). Our first thoughts are that this is a great addition for those seeking a medium-dry oil condition bowling ball. This is going to fit best on high friction surfaces and burn conditions. The booster core provides a more stable balance throughout the lane. Powered with the AI core you will see more energy retention and off hit strikes once the ball enters the pocket. You may be familiar with the A1S coverstock in the Equinox Pearl as well as the Hy-Road 40. This is a great immediate step down from the Equinox Pearl. This ball is similar overall to the Hy-Road 40 but more predictable and takes surface changes a bit better in our opinion. Overall, if you are looking for that down and in piece, or something you can use later in the blocks when the lanes get a bit toasty then this is the perfect addition! Storm Rocket A.I. – WWRD 5/1/2026
Coverstock: A1S Pearl Reactive Weight Block: Booster A.I. Core RG: 2.53 RG. Diff.: 0.048 Finish: Power Edge Fragrance: Frosted Berry Storm’s new Rocket A.I. is a Pearl Symmetrical piece that is good for Medium Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers and CG kicked out 1” from the palm. 5 x 4 x 2 ½. I threw this piece on a Fresh house pattern. Out of Box ball motion clean through the fronts with a strong backend reaction through the pins. Threw a few shots almost to the gutter around 2-3 downlane and it made a sharper turn on the backend. I compared this to the Monsoon. Monsoon was earlier in the mids with a smoother backend reaction through the pins than the Rocket A.I. This piece is similar to the Fate but a few sharper on the backend. Check Out my Ball motion Video on my Facebook/YouTube Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Dmn2PLkRx/

This combination makes the Rocket A.I. a brilliant new release in Storm’s Thunder line. But does this new Rocket A.I. belong in straighter players’ arsenal? I believe it certainly does, so let’s take a closer look at the Rocket A.I. and where it might fit in your arsenal. The Booster Core, before A.I. technology, delivered a smooth mid-lane motion and a strong, predictable turn off the pattern. Although not too flashy in design, it was loved by many bowlers for the reliable motion it delivered. Fast-forward to today, and with A.I. Core technology wrapped around the Booster Core, you have the Booster A.I. Core, which is simply the next generation in power, predictability, and reliability. Straighter players like me will love how the Booster A.I. Core maintains a strong mid-lane motion that doesn’t burn up by the exit of the pattern. In fact, straighter players will appreciate how the Booster A.I. Core stores a good amount of energy that explodes through the pins. I found the A.I. technology added the extra power I need to carry, and with that added continuation, I could count on the Rocker A.I. to kick out those dreaded single-pin leaves that can ruin the night. So, all in all, the Booster A.I. Core makes the Rocker A.I. a ball to seriously consider for your arsenal. The A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock on the Rocket A.I. was designed for medium-to-dry lane conditions, and that is exactly where it delivers. As a straighter, low-rev player, I found the Rocket A.I. fared very well in late-night conditions. The A1S Pearl offers silky, gripping traction, allowing the Rocket A.I. to get down the lane without being overly sensitive to the wet/dry conditions we straighter players see before most. I found the factory Power Edge finish was suitable for most conditions; however, for my straighter style, a light surface tweak to 3000-grit Abralon gave my Rocket A.I. that crisp, decisive motion off the pattern I can depend on. With that light surface tweak, the Rocket A.I. gave me the forgiveness and flexibility I need to keep me striking and in the hunt in those toasty, broken-down lane conditions we straighter players tend to see late at night. So, I would say that with the right surface tweak to fit your style of play, the A1S will provide results you can count on. In conclusion, the Rocket A.I. is a refreshing new addition to Storm’s Thunder Line. The combination of Booster A.I. Core and A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock makes the Rocket A.I. a great choice for straighter players seeking a late-night Pearl Reactive ball to add to their arsenal. As a straighter player, you can depend on the Rocket A.I. to deliver the right amount of traction and power to keep you striking in those work and broken-down THS conditions.
