The proven Hustle core is back with the VTC Hybrid Coverstock finished at 2000 abralon. The dull surface finish gives this Hustle some more teeth in medium to low oil volume. There is proven performance in the Hustle line that is great for up and coming bowlers and competitive bowlers looking for lower hook potential. On my typical house condition, I saw very clean in the front, a good amount of length and a smoother backend as expected at its current surface. What's good about this Hybrid Hustle option, there is ability to use it as a fresh ball and burn ball based on the environment. The Hustle S.O.S. has quickly become one of the most reliable balls in my bag. Mine is drilled 55×4.5×50 with a PAP of 4 1/8" right and 7/8" up, and the reaction is exactly what I was looking for. It reads the lane smoothly without being jumpy, blends out the pattern extremely well, and provides a predictable, continuous motion through the pins. Whether I'm bowling on fresh conditions or as the lanes transition, the S.O.S. gives me confidence because it's so versatile and easy to control. Roto Grip Hustle SOS Ball Specs: Hustle core wrapped in VTC - Versatile Traction Control hybrid coverstock and the surface is finished from Storm at 4000 grit. Layouts: 2 x 6 x 1 AND 6 x 5 x 4. My Specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 13/16th up 1/8th. Tested on Pro-lane and HPL lane surfaces on a 43ft medium volume house pattern and 44ft heavier volume house pattern. The next releases in the VERY POPULAR Hustle line have hit the lanes for the upcoming bowling season. The first one is the SOS, which is the latest hybrid coverstock version. I am a lucky man when it comes to getting equipment drilled and thanks to 2 of my partners, ABC North Lanes Pro Shop and Bowlers’ Supply I was able to obtain 2 Hustle SOS for my arsenal. The first SOS was drilled with my SUPER DUPER favorite layout on HP2 and HP3 line balls with the 2 x 6 x 1. Adding this Hustle SOS with this layout has given me a similar roll but a smidge stronger reaction in the dry part of the lane compared to my faithful Rockstars with identical layout. When the Rockstars are entering the pocket a little weak and flat, I have been moving into the SOS without any hesitation and playing right on top where I was lined up with the Rockstars. The VTC hybrid cover gives a little bit more length and more angle into the pocket in league and tournament play. Now for the next one: the 6 x 5 x 4 layout one, I have been using that at centers that have older HPL and the lane panels are quite worn in, giving me that added length and recovery in the backend versus the 2 x 6 x 1 version. I was missing this piece in my travel bags, where the balls were a Rockstar, Tour X, Gremlin, Vengeance, Ion Solid, and Viking. I was trying to use the Hustle Earth and Glow in the weak part of the arsenal, but both did not fit for what I was looking for. Now I have that piece with the SOS with the 6 x 5 x 4 layout. The HUSTLE line has been a proven line of balls for several years and this one is going to add to that legacy. The best striking ball line in the “entry performance” line across all manufacturers.
