This bowling ball features a boosted up and more dense core than the past Hyped series bowling balls and is wrapped with the VR-1 Hybrid cover. This cover is going to read a little earlier while still maintaining the continuous down lane motion we all love. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 5x4x2 (pin is above bridge). No matter your talent level you should have a mid level ball in your bag and this piece fits anyone with its versatility. If you are bowling late in block then this shape will benefit you greatly. We feel this ball has the perfect amount of length down lane without that overpowering snap effect some pearl or hybrid balls today have. The continuation is also amazing for a mid level piece. One thing to note that this cover is very user friendly when changing surfaces which makes it a great piece to have in your sport shot arsenal. The layout on this is 4 1/2 x 4 7/8 x 2 1/4. All I can say is that this is a ball that fits my game; it’s picks up in the midlane with great continuation through the pins. This is a great ball for bowlers that want a step up from the Hustles. This ball is absolutely amazing when it comes ball motion; such predictability in a ball that I can take and bowl with on everything! The Hyped Up! will be great to use in league or on medium oil patterns, and you can’t beat the price for it. If you were a fan of the Hyped series, you will enjoy this Hyped Up!

Roto Grip Hyped Up Review Layout - 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 x 1 1/2 VLS SPI SAYS: The **Roto Grip Hyped Up** continues to prove why the HP2 line has been one of the most versatile benchmark options in the Roto Grip lineup. Featuring the VTC™ Hybrid coverstock wrapped around the Hyped core, this ball creates an outstanding blend of length through the front of the lane while maintaining a strong, continuous motion off the breakpoint. With my game—**300 RPM, 16 mph ball speed, 16° axis tilt, 73.5° axis rotation, and a 5¼" × 7/8" up PAP**—the Hyped Up is exactly what I want on a fresh **41-foot house shot**. My higher axis rotation naturally creates plenty of angle, and the Hyped Up gives me the confidence to open the lane without worrying about the ball overreacting to the friction. On the transition I was able to start around 22–24 at the arrows sending the ball to **8–10 at the breakpoint**. The VTC Hybrid cover cleared the heads effortlessly while providing a smooth, readable transition through the midlane. Rather than making a violent move when it encountered friction, the Hyped Up produced a strong but controlled change of direction that continued through the pins. As the lane transitioned and the fronts began to hook, this ball really came into its own. I simply migrated a few boards left with my feet and target, and the Hyped Up continued to create excellent entry angle without sacrificing continuation. The core stores enough energy to keep the pins low, while the cover blends wet/dry conditions better than many cleaner pearlized options. For my release, the Hyped Up fits perfectly between a true benchmark solid and a skid-flip pearl. It offers more down-lane motion than stronger benchmark solids while remaining significantly more predictable than angular pearls that can become inconsistent on typical house conditions. My Specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 13/16th up 1/8th. Tested on Pro-lane and HPL lane surfaces on a 43ft medium volume house pattern and 44ft heavier volume house pattern. Let’s get HYPED UP! Bowlers!!! The Roto Grip HP2 line has been updated with the Hyped UP! Based on the popular Hyped core from a few years ago, side note: The Hyped Hybrid is second all-time favorite ball, the core density has been enhanced but the shape of the core has stayed the same, giving the ball shape a little bit earlier than in the past, but stronger than the Hustle core, but less aggressive than the cores in the HP3 line from Roto Grip. Starting off with the layout I picked, the 3 x 5 ½ x 1 ½, longer in length and a smidge stronger than my RockStar and Viking Conquest layouts, the 2 x 6 x 1. Fitting right between those 2 balls is what I was looking for to be added into my fall league bags, since I will be bowling in at least 3 different centers with 3 different lane panels and lane machine, I need to cover all my bases with 6 balls. Recently when the Rockstars were not quite strong enough, I either went to the Storm Monsoon or Rocket A.I. sanded to 3000 grit to give me that little extra kick I needed in the back ends. I would have to watch my speed more so with the Rocket A.I. because a little too much speed would cause it not react quick enough down lane and the Monsoon would be a little less angle leaving more flat corner pins. The Hyped Up! is giving the perfect look between those 2 balls. It's steady and reliable, and has been used on 3 different lane surfaces and a variety of house patterns and it has worked extremely well for me, and that is why I am HYPED UP! for this new HP2 ball. My current travel bags will consist of: Rockstar, Hyped Up!, Viking Conquest, Gremlin Tour-X, Wicked Gremlin, and either the Platinum Mix or the new Cosmos spare ball - depending on my mood. The new Roto Grip Hyped Up features a new Hyped Up! core with the V-R1 hybrid reactive coverstock finished at 4000 grit abralon. At 15 pounds this ball has an RG of 2.50 and a differential of .042. I drilled the Hyped UP! at 5x5x2 putting the pin above my bridge. When compared to my Hyped solid, the Hyped UP! is about 2 boards stronger with a more continuous backend motion. For me the Hyped Up! is good for those wet/dry conditions when I want to keep my angles closed and play just inside of the high friction area. The Hyped Up! doesn’t handle heavier volumes of oil well, but that’s not surprising and not what this ball is designed for. It does provide plenty of traction on medium conditions and very good predictability. The Hyped Up! is a step up from the Hustle line so if you want a ball that won’t break the bank but still gives you a lot of play and bang for your buck, this ball is for you.

The Hyped Up has been an awesome ball for transition and later games with the 4.5 × 4 × 2 layout. It gets through the front part of the lane easily and makes a strong, clean move downlane without feeling too sharp. It's one of my favorite balls when I need length and recovery.

Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: I was happy to see another Hype ball again. It seems it has been a while. I have always liked Hypes and the Hyped Up is another good addition to the Roto line. The Hyped Up reads the lane early and has a nice continuous move to the pocket. The Hyped up does not do anything jumpy or unexpected. This should be a ball you can trust to be reliable on medium and poor lane conditions. The Hyped Up hooks more than my Hustle SOS but less than my Gremlin Tour-X. The Hyped Up has a very predictable shape on the lane. This ball continues through the pins nicely. I have always thought The Hype Line provided a lot of performance for the dollar. I let one of my two handers roll this ball and it provided a big miss window without overreacting or rolling out in the high friction part of the lane. I love the black color with the hint of blue. The yellow logo also looks great on this ball. The Hyped Up would be a good benchmark ball for most bowlers. Summary: The Hyped Up is at a nice price point. The motion is predictable and forgiving.
