Behind The Design:
The evolution of the GEM line reaches its peak with the PERFECT GEM. We’ve taken the DNA of the original GEM core and strategically altered its density to integrate seamlessly with our revolutionary A.I. Core Technology. This precise calibration enhances the core's natural physics, thus creating a more continuous motion that maximizes energy transfer through the pins for the most "perfect" ball motion we've engineered to date.
Surrounding this high-torque weight block is our brand-new E-R1™ (EXTREME-Response Version 1) Solid Reactive coverstock. This cutting-edge, nano-free formulation creates a completely different footprint on the lane compared to our previous-generation materials, altering the surface contact zone to blend seamless front- lane cleanliness with a more extreme respsonse down lane. Factory-finished at a 2000-Grit Abralon baseline for an optimal balance of traction and recovery, the E-R1 cover effortlessly glides through the heads to preserve its extreme response to friction down lane even as the oil pattern begins to transition.
Specifically calibrated for Medium/Heavy to Heavy Oil, the PERFECT GEM is for the bowler who craves maximum reaction without the early burnout. THIS IS the cleaner, stronger, and more versatile version of a legend, providing the definitive blend of raw strength and modern continuation into one "perfect" ball.

This is a Perfect Gem
Storm Products has brought back one of the staples in the Roto Grip line, the Gem series. In its previous incarnation, there was the original Gem (solid), the Exotic Gem (pearl) and the Magic Gem (hybrid). Those balls were big asymmetricals. The covers were all solid/pearl blends of MicroTrax which had nano particles for increased “snow tire” type traction. And those originals all featured the Defiant LRG core. The new Perfect Gem has all new components from its namesake. The cover is the brand new E-R1 which stands for extreme response, but it is nano free. The goal is to still provide a high degree of traction, but without nano particles, so it should clear the fronts easier than its predecessors and provide the extreme response down lane and through the pins. The Perfect Gem features the all new Gem + A.I. core which takes the original core, but recalibrates the internal density and fuses it with our Amplified Inertia (A.I.) Technology. Typically, adding A.I. to an existing core lowers the RG a little. But since the densities have been modified as well, the RG is actually a little higher in the Perfect Gem at 2.49 in the 15#. It also has a bigger differential at 0.057 with a PSA dif of 0.017. What all this means is the Perfect Gem should be pretty early, with a big flare potential so it will be at the top of your bag with the Ion Max, the Viking Conquest, but it will be a little cleaner and therefore be a little more responsive with a bigger back end reaction. I recently bowled the Northwest and West Elite Regionals on the 48’ pattern. I didn’t have this at the first Northwest event, but a lot of guys were throwing it. I drilled mine with the specific idea to use it on the West event. So I put the pin 5 ¾ from my PAP because I wanted it to stay online for the longer pattern since I would be playing so close to the head pin. I wanted it to rev up and read the midlane, so I put the PSA 2” from my PAP. And I used a 2” pin buffer so it would have a pretty quick hook window since it wouldn’t have a lot of time to make a smooth change of direction on the longer pattern. I liked what it gave me starting game 1. I felt like the cover wouldn’t over shoot and the core would rev up so it would read the midlane. It just was a little too strong on the back end given how close my breakpoint was to the pocket. Also, that pattern is really low scoring, so nothing was going to create a bunch of miss room, but it at least made me feel like I had a ball motion that gave me a chance. Throwing it on a house pattern, I confirmed that the Perfect Gem is similar to the big asyms like Ion Max and Viking Conquest. It is a little cleaner, and has more back end motion. So f you are looking for a big ball for the top of your bag and one that is a little more versatile because it has more responsiveness down lane, the Perfect Gem could be the perfect choice for you.

Roto Grip Perfect Gem
Roto Grip Perfect Gem — E-R1 Solid Reactive | GEM A.I. Core | RG 2.49 | Diff 0.057 | Box Finish 2000 Grit The Perfect Gem has been a great match for my game with my high rev rate and medium-to-high ball speed. It gives me the strong traction I want in heavier oil, with a strong and predictable midlane read without feeling like it burns up too early. Even with the 2000-grit finish, I still get plenty of energy downlane and a strong continuation through the pins. I really like that I can move inside as the lanes transition without the ball losing its shape. Compared to the Original Gem, I feel like the Perfect Gem gives me a little more length and continuation while still having plenty of overall strength. It doesn't feel overly aggressive off the breakpoint, which makes it easier for me to control with my higher rev rate. When I need a ball that can handle heavier conditions, dig through the oil, and still have enough energy to drive through the pins, the Perfect Gem gives me a lot of confidence and is definitely a ball I want in my bag.

Perfect Gem Review
Ball Specs: Roto Grip Perfect Gem ER-1 Solid Reactive Cover 2000 Abralon Sanded Asymmetric Core Layout 4 x 5 with 1/2” Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The new Roto Grip Perfect Gem provides a bit more length than the original Gem. The changes made to the Perfect Gem allow it to provide a ball that keeps coming on the back part of the lane where the original would sometimes roll out. Both solid Gems hook a lot, but I feel I will be able to use the newest on more occasions one if there is enough oil. This ball has great colors and when polished looks great. Polish also gives the ball more length and pop on the back of the lane. The Storm family has some very good high hook potential dull balls out right now. I would choose this one for a big, controlled hook with a good move at the break point. The Viking Conquest for more back-end motion and the alpha for early and forward roll. The Perfect Gem was well received at our recent Match Maker ball Demo and showed its hook potential. Summary: This is a very strong ball from Roto Grip. The Perfect Gem provides a little more length than the original. The Perfect Gem will be a good choice for oily conditions. Perfect GEM!
The Perfect GEM features the same GEM core found in the previous versions but now has the AI outer core. The Perfect GEM also features some new tires, E-R1 Solid. This combination produces a ball with a lot more overall shape than the OG but still creates plenty of friction. The Perfect GEM is going to be a great option for me on fresh higher ratio patterns or after balls like the ION Max and Alpha start seeing the front part of the lane too quickly. The Perfect GEM is now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! Review Video: https://youtu.be/zgMNjHv4iAw?si=NXB8ISog0guD3UFs

The Perfect Gem is just... Perfect!!
The Perfect Gem is the newest addition to the Roto Grip Line. This new asymmetrical solid features the GEM core (found in the fan favorite original Gem), this time, upgraded with AI technology. The weight block is topped with the ER-1 Solid Reactive Cover Stock. The specification of the Perfect Gem is designed to produce more hook potential, more traction, and more versatility. Ball layout: 70 x 5 3/8 x 40. I tested the ball at my home centers 42ft league pattern. The first thing that came to my mind after the first shot was… “wow, this ball is strong!” Quite possibly the strongest asymmetrical solid I’ve ever thrown. The hook potential in this ball blends so well in the oil, where it picks up easily in the mid lane, resulting in a smooth and controllable backend motion through the pins. While the Alpha Crux and Wicked Gremlin have strong hook potential, the Perfect Gem is just the icing on the cake when it comes to versatility. This ball would work so well when contesting on heavy lane conditions. I also feel as a bonus, like the original Gem, bowlers can also benefit with various surface adjustments for the Perfect Gem to give them more length and control with pleasing results. More strength, more versatility, simply… perfect! If you were a fan of the original Gem or looking to upgrade your arsenal with a big core asymmetrical solid, you’re going to love this beast! Perfect Gem Review by Kyle, Joel, & Dean Johnson
Roto Grip Perfect Gem Cover: E-R1™ Solid Reactive – 2,000 Grit Core: GEM™ + A.I. Core (Asymmetrical) Color: Pink/Rose/Oynx Review: The Gem is back baby! This series has been a home run for that first out of bag bowling ball and not to mention the awesome shelf appeal! If you love those bowling balls that like to move this will not disappoint. The biggest difference in this new version is a slightly more dense core as well as a cleaner look through the front part of the lane. We feel compared to the original Gem this ball is less forward rolling and a little more continuous through the pins. Our style: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 5x4x2 (pin is above bridge). We really like this ball for fresh tournament and house patterns. We often find ourselves beginning with this piece in game 1 and transitioning to something a little smoother down lane in the later part of game 2 and game 3. This ball may not be as versatile as some of the other SPI asym bowling balls but it must not be overlooked for its power on the fresh. It really is a true Gem. This may be more of a niche piece but it is definitely worth checking out at a local matchmaker to see if it fills that gap in your arsenal. Truly Perfect
The Perfect Gem might be the most versatile Gem that they have made. Even though the ball doesn’t pick up as early as the original Gem, it is still strong. When the lanes break down I feel like the original Gem didn’t have as much forgiveness when I moved a little left. This ball has a bit more length with a sharper backend motion. It allowed me to play a little more inside and the ball just continued to plow through the pins.

Perfect GEM for me - by RGR
Roto Grip Perfect Gem: Core and cover: GEM + A.I. Core with E-R1 solid cover Factory finish: 2000 grit – Mine is at 500 then 1500 grit with Rough Edge – after testing different cover surfaces to suit my game Layout: 3 ¾ x 5 x 2 ¼ Here we go: The Perfect Gem is the latest high power performance ball from Roto Grip. Following up on the Wicked Gremlin, the Perfect Gem is on the stronger side with the E-R1 cover with the updated GEM cover. E-R1 cover actually “allows the ball to save energy with a booming shape down lane.” Out of the box at 2000 grit, the Perfect Gem was way strong and early in the reaction for me on a medium to heavy volume house pattern with Kegel GLIDE Lane conditioner. I mean STRONG! Like WOW! Holey Moley! So, I started to experiment with surface changes to see what I really had with this ball with the help of the ABC North pro shop haus machine and ball spinner. I tried grits from 3000 to 5000 and just seemed to still be a little early and “booming” in the backend. So, I tried doing a complete reset with 500 then 1500 grits then used Storm Rough Edge on the surface, and I was completely amazed by the reaction and how long I was able to stay with the ball through my whole practice session for more than 1 hour. I decided to use it in league play the past 2 weeks at 2 different centers and I can say with minor target adjustments, I could use the Perfect Gem when I Rock Star was just not getting around the corner enough to get good strike percentage. The Perfect Gem to me with the current cover condition is the best ball to follow up from my Rock Star during league play. I will still be leaning on my Rock Star during practice at league nights, but if I don’t “feel” the Rock Star is the right piece at that point in time, I will have no fear to move right and let the Perfect Gem open up the left side for me. #SquadRG #ABCNorthLanesAndLounge #Coolwick #ViseInserts Upcoming Storm Matchmakers in my area that I will be coordinating and or assisting with: 10/10 – Earl Bowl – Earlington, Pa. 10/11 – Hanover Bowling Centre – Hanover, Pa. 10/25 – Crofton Lanes – Crofton, Md. 10/31 – Shotmaker’s Pro Shop – Perry Hall, Md. 11/7 – Hillview Lanes – Greensburg, Pa.

Perfect Gem is Perfect!
The Roto Grip Perfect Gem is easily the strongest bowling ball I have ever thrown, and it strikes a ton! Mine is drilled **50×4¾×70**, and this ball has an incredible amount of strength and traction while still being surprisingly versatile. I personally prefer mine with surface, where it becomes an absolute monster for heavy-volume patterns and gives me the confidence to attack conditions where I need maximum traction. What really impressed me, though, is how much the Perfect Gem can be manipulated with surface and for some bowlers, even polish, to create a completely different shape. That versatility makes it much more than just a heavy-oil ball. Whether you need an extremely strong piece for demanding conditions or want to adjust the cover to fit your game, the Perfect Gem gives you plenty of options. If you're looking for serious strength without sacrificing the ability to fine-tune your reaction, this ball is an absolute beast!

Perfect Big Ball!
The Roto Grip Perfect Gem is an absolute beast when it comes to overall hook and traction! This ball is designed for heavier oil conditions, and you can really feel how strong it is as soon as it hits the lane. The Perfect Gem reads the midlane extremely hard while still giving you plenty of continuation through the pins, making it a great option when you need something that can handle a lot of oil. What I really like about this ball is how much energy it keeps even though it’s so strong. It creates a huge amount of motion downlane and can really open up the lane when you’re struggling to get your other equipment to hook. If you’re looking for a strong, aggressive bowling ball that can handle heavy conditions and give you a ton of confidence when you need hook, the Roto Grip Perfect Gem is definitely a ball worth checking out!
